STANDARD FEATURES
All Standard Features

ADVANCED SYSTEMS
Electrotelescope: An extremely primitive way to look outside of starships but apparently one of the very few ways to look around while the Hibridium Cloaking Device was active. (x)
Hibridium Cloaking Device: Very expensive, very difficult to use. Causes more issues with the entire Flatwell than it is worth but allows it to go undetected. (x)

Strengths:
  • A Cloaked Carrier?!: The Flatwell is one of the view large ships that can be cloaked, can deploy a payload if required of starfighters and support craft. Even more so, can do surprise hit and run tactics.
  • Scramble all Starfighters!: It has several unique exit points to allow starfighters/support crafts a quick exit once deployed. Even better, this does not seem to disrupt any of the cloaking when launching past the sensor barrier.
Weaknesses:
  • Massive Power Drain: Due to the extreme extent of the Hibridium Cloaking Device, everything was diminished from speed, manuverability and hyperdrive, save for the weapon systems. The Flatwell suffers for its unique surprise tactics.
  • Double Blind: Nothing can see it, but it cannot see anything either without the use of Electrotelescopes which are the equivalent of using a pin needle to look out towards space. If it runs into something, it is most likely due to one of the many operators not seeing it with the Electrotelescope.
  • Slow Hyperdrive: Due to the Hibridiums nature of exploding the hyperdrive, it is set to a very slow speed that is unusual for its class. This is to merely prevent it from imploding the entire Flatwell once it makes its jump into hyperspace.
  • Paper Thin Hull: Once the main deflector shield is down, a few good shots will go through the hull and destroy anything behind it. This can be very bad as if the Hibridium is hit, the Flatwell goes up with it.
  • Turn Off the Cloak or Blow Up In Hyperspace!: Even though it can now jump into hyperspace, the cloak has to be deactivated before activating the jump to hyperspace. Failure to do so will result in damage to the Flatwell or explosion.
Description:
To describe a mad mans idea is simply to ask, how long did this take? The answer would been over an entire year, millions of credits, death and an ambition to make something a reality. Cloaked vessels always seem to be using Stygium, a very rare mineral that seems to be always in short supply. More so, it always seems that no matter what, every alternative fails in some fantastic way. One of which was Hibridium, a cloaking mineral that apparently backfired so badly, it destroyed ships once in hyperspace and drained all the power so badly, it made every form of ship, unusable. Haon Hafey saw this as a challenge and began drafting plans along with many forms of plans to prevent all the problems of yesteryear and make finally, a possible cloaked ship but not just any...a cruiser. The larger the cloaking device, the easier it was to manage and that was what was being done first.

When the Hibridium Cloaking Device was first used, it was almost ridiculed as people barely could see outside the ship. That was easily dealt with, adding multiple view ports across the ship to where it was rather easy though longer ranges required a unique addition. Having already added one to an earlier design, the Electrotelescope was added as it was rather primitive and was not affected by the Hibridiums Cloaking Device. The only rather unruly issue was the amount of Electrotelescopes added all over the Flatwell to just see outside and was linked to a large security room like office.

One of the massive problems that was to be undertook was the hyperdrive issue. Each time a starship would go into hyperspace, the Hibridium would react badly and feedback loop into the ship, overloading the reactors and destroy the starship. This was due to the continuous power draw of the Hibridium and the upscale of power required but thankfully after eight hundred plus years, reactors had improved in consumption though only by so much. The trick was to find a very economical hyperdrive then tinker with it to keep lowering the hyperdrives speed until it became an acceptable level to where the Flatwell would not explode. This was the longest amount of time, actually taking the year with results varied all across the board though the safest while also being the fastest with no explosions, was at six point five. While it was the magic number, each set of hyperdrives tweaked had to be done then tested before being installed as any mistakes, it would just explode.

Many reactors were installed throughout the Flatwell, so much so that the hull itself became thousands of cords linked to each crystal while also diverting power from each reactor inside the ship. Overall, there was forty-two reactors placed all around the Flatwell in unique locations, dedicated towards its power draw. Problem was that each reactor unlike the main two reactors near the center were smaller in comparison, almost half the size of a starfighter that merely became a power conduit and stored energy while also producing energy. While a few can fail here or there, in mass if they fail, it would all go under which was why so many cables were stretched across, sacrificing hull strength for the reactor.

One of the most unique things about the Flatwell was the unique thoughts on yesteryear. The powerdraw came from everything such as weapons, shields, engines, hyperdrive though no one thought on what can be done without the drain. It was decided that having a hanger bay would be the best idea and with it, more options to leave the ship if bad things would happen. With multiple exits made, it even made sure to allow others to see outside even with the hanger bay so opened up. There was even talks of having cloaked starfighters even being used which would be very interesting but raise the cost of operating the Flatwell even higher than before.

When it finally was finished, it was decided only six were to be made with the Black Sun having first rights to owning one of the vessels. At a cost climbing to where a battlecruiser would be, it was decided to be on a very closed and limited market. Now it was up to decide whether or not anyone would wish to buy one or even wish to try one.

To answer your question, you're current one rating below balance. So you could bump a stat here or there if you would like.

As a separate note, at the present size of 964m, you actually do not qualify for the 1000m rating you've placed. We automatically round down on Hangar Ratings (even when the difference is only 36m) and that would put the vessel in the 750m class when it comes to working out how many squadrons it can field. This would decrease the number of squadrons from 12 to 9 with the extreme rating.

The easiest solution to this is just to simply bump the size up accordingly, but let me know what you want to do here.

I have increased Armaments to High from Moderate. Included more turbolasers and concussion missile launchers to give it a bit more teeth.
I have also increased the size to 1000 meters which, while I rather not, makes a bit more sense considering it is already very close to that number.

Hopefully that is all Miss.
