Strengths:
  • Heavy Armament: The Whisperer is armed with a considerable amount of firepower and allows it to compete with even the smaller varieties of Star Destroyers. Permitting it to inflict significant damage on almost any foe, be they pirates or an enemy faction.
  • Thick Shielding: Alongside its healthy compliment of weaponry, this heavy cruiser boasts impressive shields for its class, allowing it to enter into and sustain a presence in large tonnage fights.
  • Tough Armour: The Whisperer as an upgraded Victory X-Class features improved and lighter armour in the form of titanium construction with Quadanium reinforcement, it takes heavy weaponry to break through the Whisperer's Hull.
  • Concussion Missiles: Armed with several launchers and healthy stockpiles of concussion-warhead armed missiles, the Whisperer's concussion missiles can bypass ray shields, but still be blocked by standard particle shields.
Weaknesses:
  • Lack of Fighters: Carrying no TIE Fighters, the Whisperer lacks adequate support and point defence, allowing enemy fighters to exploit its blindspots with co-ordinated attacks.
  • Exposed Bridge: A feature common in most Star Destroyer designs is the high and unmistakable command bridge. The ship's brain could be easily crippled should the shields fail and the enemy fire well-placed shots at the bridge.
  • Prominent Sensor Dome(s): The two sensors domes seated above the bridge store most of the Whisperer's important sensors. Without shield protection, these sensors domes can be destroyed and rob the whisperer of its ability to engage targets beyond visual range and disable the Anti-missile warfare suite.
  • Negligible Aft Weaponry: This cruiser only has 10 point defence laser cannons covering its stern, allowing fighters and capital ships to inflict potentially catastrophic damage to the Whisperer if they can get behind it at the same or lower value on the Y-axis.
  • Negligible Ventral Weaponry: Most of the Whisperer's weapons are located on the dorsal and anterior surface, leaving it almost completely vulnerable from attack originating from beneath the ship. To Negate this weakness, the Whisperer will attempt to keep the enemy in front of them or depress the ship so all weapons can be moved fore.
  • Missile Storage: While stored under Quadanium-Reinforced Titanium Armour, the missiles are stored close to the launchers for ease of loading, allowing the entire stockpile to explode if the Durasteel hull is penetrated and hits the stored missiles. The risk of an explosion is directly proportional to the number of concussion missiles in the magazine.
Description: The FIV Whisperer is a new and upgraded Victory X-Class Star Destroyer, featuring improvements implemented from the critiques of Naval officers stationed aboard them and data collected during combat operations. The Whisperer features an all new Titanium construction with Quadanium reinforcement that makes for a lighter albeit stronger hull. Combined with an upgraded hyper matter annihilation reactor the Whisperer demonstrates increased agility and speed. Beyond some novel improvements to the Hull, Reactor, Sensors and Electronics. The Whisperer is still a Victory X-Class Star Destroyer and has the weakness of a prominent bridge and sensor domes above the bridge and no fighter complement to provide comprehensive point-defence from hostile fighter craft. The Concussion Missiles magazines are prominent weaknesses which can explode and deal catastrophic damage to the ship. To minimise this risk, the crew will try to expend their concussion missiles quickly or intensify the shields in these areas.

Development Thread: If Necessary
Intent: To create my own Unique and fully fleshed out version of the Victory X-Class Star Destroyer for the player character FN-888 and commanded by the NPC "Captain Dietrich Bexley".
