OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Structure Name: First Wonosan Church of Woostri
  • Classification: Church
  • Location: Woostri, a few blocks away from the Helix the Liberator statue.
  • Affiliation: Order of Wonosa, Sith Order
  • Accessibility: While not advertising itself, the church is fairly easily to find and access for the common populace as the resident priests do often venture out and invite crowds to their sermons. It is open to the public but Sith officials and security forces are eyed with suspicion and are often placated or otherwise bribed in order to ward them away from the church as their teachings are somewhat controversial.
  • Description: Nestled within an otherwise unremarkable street in the city, the First Wonosan Church of Woostri doesn't tower nor does it particularly draw the gaze of passersby. Rather it seems to grow from the buildings around it, distinct but also subtle and easily overlooked as its black stone and metal construction largely melds into its surroundings. The red stained glass and lighting that adorns it is similarly rather common.
POINTS OF INTEREST
Entry Hall:
Just beyond the decorated and inscribed doors sits the entry hall, a small room that is separated from the main area of the church by an arch with the Sith Code scrawled across it in Ur-Kittat.

Nave and Altar: The main area of the church is filled with pews and some decorated pillars, the center lane leading to the pulpit is inscribed with Ur-Kittat verses that are often laden with alchemical salt which supplies a subtle crimson glow. Candles and the windows provide most of the lighting but there are some alcoves with more typically lighting in them which gives off some dim lighting as well. The altar itself sits at the back of the church, comprised of a pulpit on a raised plinth with a holoprojector behind it that is used during sermons or to deliver sermons without a priest needing to be present.

Clerestory and Upper Aisles: The second story of the church is mostly comprised of the windows that illuminate the lower floor but there are some aisles lining the side which serve as walkways and as the landing between the stairs that lead between the floors.

Dormitory: Occupying the highest level of the church is the dormitory where the priests live, consisting of several rooms most of which are bedrooms. A kitchen and restrooms as well as some office spaces can be found here also, with some storage spaces alongside them.

SECURITY
Low

There aren't any real defenses for the building itself aside from the inhabitants within and the building's own walls. There is a small garrison of battle droids that can be deployed in emergencies as well as the Priests themselves but otherwise there aren't any defenders to speak of.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Following the Battle of Woostri a small force from Darth Strosius would be sent to help guard and reestablish the planet as a Sith world. This force was largely just meant to watch for incoming enemy forces and help root out whatever pockets of resistance still existed from the battle, only participating in a handful of skirmishes in the immediate aftermath of the main battle for control of the world. When the galaxy itself shifted however and Woostri was briefly severed from communications with the rest of Sith space, as most systems were for a short time, the force sprung into action.

Fearing a long term separation from the wider Order of Wonosa and without leadership from Darth Strosius, they established themselves in one of the major cities and built a church so that they could have somewhere to practice their beliefs and spread them to the wider population of Woostri. The chaos of the shifting galaxy allowed them to keep their work beneath the radar of the more traditional Sith Eternalist church which dominated all worlds beneath the Sith Order's banner, with plans being made to uproot the Eternalist church once a sufficient following of their own had been gathered.

Plans that were quickly abandoned with all evidence of them sealed away within the church itself when the world regained contact with the wider Sith Order and with their Prophet Darth Strosius. Since then the church has been properly staffed by the Kissai of Wonosa and largely serves as a very subtle and easily disregarded sect that while not in line with Eternalism is overlooked due to simple convenience and bribery.
