First Order Weekly Skype Meetings - Gauging Interest

Hello loyal sons and daughters of the First Order,

As this faction transitions into new leadership, one of my main goals is to keep activity high, and indeed reach greater heights as we progress as a faction. Unfortunately the past few weeks, in the wake of the leadership change (which is still up in the air) we've been sort of running around like a headless chicken. We have the potential to be quite strong, there is a lot of interest in our faction which is not going to go away any time soon, but we have lost a bit of focus in the past couple weeks. My goal is to re-instate strong leadership and make us cohesive once again.

One of my ideas for doing so is to institute a time for us all to meet up in the Skype chat - once weekly, where we all discuss our ideas for the faction, talk about strategies and threads, and generally just sh!tpost and have fun. We have several new faction members who I think could also benefit from being integrated into our tightly-knit camaraderie. Not only this, but I would like to go over my plans for the faction with as many people as possible, in real time. This includes my plans to find a completely new mod team that will boost our activity.

As always, anything that is said in the chat room should not be considered "official" until it hits the board. Skype is a secondary tool for us, but it is a good tool that we should make the best use of. As of right now, I'm thinking a good meeting time would be Tuesdays, at about 9PM EST. I'm just throwing this time out there right now, if anyone has any different ideas, please let me know.

I would like everyone who reads this to please comment with ideas, and whether or not you would be willing/able to participate in such a thing. It's my hope that we can use Skype to get a little more friendly with each other and grow as a faction. So - thoughts?

If Tuesdays would be a good day for everyone, then that will be great. Let's see what everyone else has to say.

And I also want to clarify that these gatherings are in no way mandatory. But if you have ideas for the faction, it's a good venue for you to be heard.

I think that is a wonderful idea. But I'll miss all the skype meetings because I work Monday thru Friday from 4 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (Meaning I'm usually in bed by no later than 8.pm.). For me, weekends would be best (Friday or Saturday).

Or perhaps we can two separate meetings for those that can't make it. Tuesday will be the meeting and the second meeting a recap for us weekday early birds (naturally anyone can join in on the fun).

I can generally make anytime in the evening.

Due to the nature of my work however and the frequency of international travel, there may certainly be times when I cannot be present.

Awesome! Just know that I'd only be able to Skype on Tuesdays and every 2 weeks on weekends. So, unfortunately, I may not be able to participate.

Perhaps we can come up with some sort of summary of the discussion so folks who can't make the time can still get the gist of whatever we were going over? (For the tom-foolery, you'll just have to be there )

Well, whoever wants to be added to the chat can be added, of course. That way even if they aren't actually present for the hangout, they can log into Skype and read the chat log at any time and see what was discussed.

Also, anything that gets talked about in the chat will necessarily need to hit the board first before becoming official. So people will see what we talk about.

Okay everyone, since the response has been overwhelmingly positive for hangouts on Tuesday @ 9, we're going to try our first Skype session during that time next week. If you can't make it, don't worry. You won't miss anything without first being notified on the board!
