OVERVIEW
The First Order Special Forces (FOSF) serve as the surgical edge of the First Order. While the main body of the First Order military is designed for overwhelming force and systemic control, the FOSF is engineered for precision, speed, and high-stakes subversion. These operatives are the elite percentage of the military who have demonstrated peerless merit and absolute psychological conditioning.
The FOSF exists as a Functional Task Force. They exist to enforce and maintain order once the ground has been prepared by the FOSB. They are the instruments used to decapitate resistance and ensure the First Order's return to the Core is absolute.
STRUCTURE
The FOSF utilizes a cross-departmental command structure. While personnel are drawn from the Stormtrooper Corps or the Navy, they operate under a unified special operations mandate.
- Command Authority: The Supreme Leader holds ultimate command, with direct oversight held by the FOSB under Director Braith.
- Strategic Integration: Missions are coordinated with Grand Marshal Maris Veyra and Grand Admiral Vladic Drakov to ensure Special Forces actions support the broader movement of the Army and Navy.
- Branch Integration:
- The Stormtrooper Corps: Houses the heavy-infantry and unconventional warfare units (Death Troopers and Shadow Troopers).
- The First Order Navy: Houses the elite aviation and boarding units (TIE Commandos).
- The Operator Hierarchy: FOSF is divided into Variants (the specialized training/class of the soldier) and Units (the specific tactical squads formed to execute missions).
- Joint Task Force Concept: In active operations, elements from different FOSF units are often grouped into temporary joint task forces tailored to a specific mission profile, allowing for seamless coordination between space-born and ground-based elites.
VARIANTS AND ROLES
- Death Troopers (Stormtrooper Corps)
- Primary Role: Shock Tactics & Surgical Strikes.
- Operational Scopes: High-Value Target (HVT) Elimination, Heavy Demolitions, and Urban Pacification.
- Function: Decapitate enemy leadership and crush fortified resistance with overwhelming violence. They also serve as the definitive VIP Protection unit for the High Command, acting as the "Final Line" of the First Order’s leadership.
- Shadow Troopers (Stormtrooper Corps)
- Primary Role: Direct Action & Unconventional Warfare.
- Operational Scopes: Offensive Sabotage, Guerrilla Tactics, Asset Recovery, and High-Intensity Urban Combat.
- Function: They act as the "blade" that strikes after FOSB agents have concluded their subversion. They specialize in high-stakes direct action missions behind enemy lines, deployed to dismantle their physical capability through violent disruption and offensive sabotage.
- Sovereign Protectors (Stormtrooper Corps)
- Primary Role: Critical People and Infrastructure Protection.
- Operational Scopes: Elite Bodyguard Detail, CQC, and Ideological Enforcement.
- Function: The "Shield of the Order." These are the most physically imposing and loyal within the Stormtrooper Corps. Trained in advanced combat arts and equipped with specialized ceremonial yet highly functional armor, they provide 24/7 security for the First Order leadership and critical infrastructure.
- TIE Commandos (First Order Navy)
- Primary Role: Versatile Black-Ops Aviation & Infiltration.
- Operational Scopes: High-stake Planetary Bombardment, Capital Ship Elimination, Boarding Actions, Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR), and Atmospheric Infiltration.
- Function: Pilots of the highest caliber who are equally lethal in a cockpit or in a ship-to-ship boarding corridor. They specialize in Rapid Extraction and Zero-G Combat, ensuring that FOSF assets can be inserted or removed from any environment, no matter how hostile. They are the masters of the "High Ground," ensuring total mobility for the Order.
DOCTRINE
The Special Forces are the ultimate practitioners of the four pillars of the First Order Military Doctrine:
- Subversion: FOSF operatives execute the physical collapse of a system after the FOSB has eroded its social and political foundations.
- Strategic Paralysis: By eliminating key infrastructures such as command hubs and communication arrays simultaneously, FOSF ensures the enemy is paralyzed before the main fleet exits hyperspace.
- Absolute Orbital Supremacy: FOSF units act as the "eyes" for the Navy. They provide the precise coordinates for Correctional Bombardments, ensuring that orbital fire is utilized as a surgical tool to remove resistance without damaging vital infrastructure such as foundries or shipyards.
- Total Pacification: Special Forces units are tasked with the liquidation of "Unreformed" cells that persist after a world has been brought into the First Order.
