Description:
The Firmus armor is a strong and reliable set of gear. It is outfitted with lots of gear for the upper hand on the field. While this armor is primarily developed for the mercs legion an open market version has been made for the public and military groups to purchase. While colour coding units or soldiers roles are a common thing, Inquisition has decided to put in that extra detail for you. If small details aren't so important to you then maybe what the tech this armor uses will peek your interest. In the Helmat there are many types of apparatus for the user to use. From radars to the HoloNet all the necessary things are there. To complicated for you well no need to worry with the use of a tac/data pad you can connect it to your Helmat and switch things on and off.

As for exterior gear there is many places for the person to store ammunition, field medkits, grenades even that photo you keep by your side at all times. while not been entirely important to the armor they are made out of common fabrics so it's easily fixed or replaceable. On the back of the mercs legion edition is a long lasting jet pack for mobility and the edge that could mean life or death of yourself or someone else. The suit it's self can register when the equipment like the rebreather and vacuum sealing needs to kick in. Although this is mostly in case of space jumps or the need to dive into waters.

To compensate for the long duration of heat a special alloy had been created out of hafnium, carbon, nitrogen and duranium. The alloy can withstand massive amounts of heat due to it's melting point is little over 4,126°C (7,460°F), two thirds the tempreture of a yellow sun. while been able to withstand this mass about of heat it is able to withstand some beating from a lightsaber. Although consistent contact along the plating could still seriously harm the person inside. While the armor is grate for dealing with the common energy based weapon's it isn't so good handling the more physical based ones. Meaning that slugthrowers will penetrate the armor quite well and provided the sword is a strongly made one can also cut into the armor. For swords and sabers it is easier to strike where the least plating is (arms, neck, waist and legs.)

saber resist
Can you expand on this, especially where the resistance is coming from and how resistant it is?

Pineal Eye

What is a pineal eye?

X-Ray (mercs legion edition)
Is this X-ray vision a la Superman? Or a device that reads X-ray radiation? Or is it something else?

Echolocation
Is this the sonar mapper put in the references section? Or is it something else.

My overall thought about this submission so far that it's fairly solid sub, but there's a lot being packed into this armor with all of its electronics features. Because of the sheer number of systems being included in on this, I'd like to either see a 10 post development thread or a solid weakness added to help balance this advantage out.

[member="Gir Quee"] X-ray like Superman's kinda so those who are more medic orientated can work effectively or to back up the life form scanner.

Pineal eye is like a 3rd eye but no need for it now I think about it so it's gone

Echolocation is the sonar mapper.

All add into the description about it been quite week to slug throwers and swords/knifes

That slugthrower effectiveness against this armor is solid, and I want to say that I appreciate it being something concrete rather than purely situational.

Do you have a link for a device that can do this in star wars or real-life? Or perhaps a reference to a droid, armor, or some other device that can use some sort of X-ray vision? The closest thing I've been able to find so far is the RSMA bioscan unit, but that requires someone to walk through it to work.

This material will probably need its own submission if it's going to be moderate to highly protective against lightsabers. If it's minor protection (like armorweave), that's fine, but I'd like to see its strength described a little bit more.

[member="Gir Quee"] I've already used that alloy in two submissions before this except I've only bolstered it with duraium. The alloy it's self is a real world material (hence the two bottom links). Since sabers are heat damage and it wouldn't be able to emit enough heat in a slash to cut through the plates. But it doesn't cover everything so a player could strike at the arms, legs and throat to cause damage. I'll add in to the description of the exposed areas. But it's biggest and only real strength is how heat resistant it is due to the melting point. I guess if someone held the saber in one spot for long enough it would not only cause the wearer tremendous agony but may start to melt it. No where in Canon does it explain how hot they are.

As for the X-ray http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/X-ray

I do remember seeing this alloy's use before in the jetpack. The issue here is how it's being employed. It's one thing to have an alloy that allows a jetpack to work, but it's another issue to use it to provide levels of protection that traditionally have only been accorded by restricted materials. As this is currently described, this alloy will need a separate submission to work as an armor material.

I saw the link when I did my own searching, but I didn't see anything in there that suggests that X-ray vision is something that's possible. Wiki actually has a decent article on the difference between actual x-ray radiation and x-ray vision. You can find it here.

[member="Gir Quee"] okay until I submit that alloy to the factory so it's chaos + rl cannon I will lower it so it can withstand at least some saber attack but not almost immune if that's okay with you?

As for the X-ray what was in the wookie link is about what I wanted for it but again I can tone that down to a specific distance of effect due to them been put on things a little bigger. Would 3-5m seem fine with you?

Ill wait on your reply before the edits.

If it's something along the lines of armorweave (very limited resistance), that's fine.

I don't follow. There's no issue with having a sensor like those used by the buzz droids and Tri-fighters to detect and interpret x-ray radiation. But that sensor doesn't give anyone the power of classic X-ray vision (like being able to see through walls, other armors, etc).

[member="Gir Quee"] life form scanner kinda hits the seeing them through walls. So to make things just plane and simple it would be for medical reasons. Ill use an example of someone is trapped under about 3-5m rubble. You can see there face and responding but unable to be moved until knowing the state of injury said person is in.

Also when we get to dealing with the metal just archive this as I have the material submission ready to go up. Soon as that's done I'll get it pulled out. In the mean time before we get there any other problems that peek even if it's minor ones.

That's fine with me. I guess I would just link the life form scanner into the submission when you chose to remove this from the archive.
