- Bifurcating cyclical-ignition pulse
- Locking Activator
- Lignan Crystal
- Christophsis Crystal
- Kyber Crystal -- Yellow

- Can’t Stop the Heat: Lignan crystal causes the blade to burn hotter than most. It will also enhance the force powers of the user if the wielder is a dark side force user.
- Under the Sea: The bifurcating ignition pulse allows the lightsaber to be active underwater.
- Seven in One Blow: Due to the Christophsis crystal kinetic attacks are stronger. The user of this blade will see a significant increase to the impact their strikes make.
- Pitch and Catch: The locking activator allows the blade to remain active after the user has released it.
- A Hot Knife Through Butter: The blade cuts through most materials with relative ease

- Cotorsis will cause the blade to short.
- Force enhancing properties of the impeded crystals are null in the presence of Ysalamiri or other force null fields.
- The blade will remain active until it is turned off
- The hotter blade increases the chance of self injury.

Ferrum Solis was forged with great care. Every detail, even to the harvesting of the iron for the hilt, was done to precise specification. If a new weapon was to be built for the new Lord Commander of the Knights Obsidian it’s specifications would be exact. Naturally the weapon would contain more than simple components as to play to the strengths of Gerwald Lechner.
The saber itself would use a yellow hued kyber crystal as a play off his moniker as the Summer Wolf. Despite the fact it would appear as the weapon of someone who wielded the light side of the force, the other crystals, and the iron itself, enhanced the connection Gerwald had to the dark side of the force. Even though he was not fully Sith, the events of Gerwald’s life had led him down a dark path. He had learned well to harness his emotions and passions to master his skill in the force.
As with his previous weapon, the blade length was slightly longer than average to compensate for the man’s height. The grip was designed to be sure, the ridges decreasing the chance that the hilt would simply slip from his hands. It could easily be used with one hand or two, playing to the familiarity Gerwald had with a broadsword during his time as a combatant on his home planet of Stewjon.
