Weaknesses:
* Exspensive - limited to starships of minor production or less

Description: Ferrocarbon/Agrinium mesh Frame is a durable starship frame material which utilizes ferrocarbon as the base for the frame of the vessel. Alusteel bracing's, are implemented to strengthen the frames joints. An Agrinium mesh network is wrapped around the frame forming a faraday cage completely encircling the vessel in an energy network which can absorb and dissipate energy such as electromagnetic or ion energy. This system of frame construction presents a highly durable skeleton for the vessel and offers superior anti-em and anti-ion defense.

  • What degree of ion-weapon resistance are you claiming? Parts of your sub seem to imply that this component renders a ship virtually immune to ion weapons. Seems a bit steep for something without any significant weaknesses.
  • How does this handle structural damage?
  • How does this handle small gaps, such as transparisteel viewports, and large gaps, such as hangars and engines? How does this cover, say, turreted weapons emplacements?
  • Does this increase difficulty of repairs?
  • Does this interfere with EM spectrum sensors/comm gear and, if so, do those modules have to be mounted outside the cage's protection? The general question of extremities (sensors, comms, guns) needs to be addressed.
