The Fenrir-class Battlecruiser was a warship conceived for planetary defense, planetary assault, troop transport, and ship-to-ship combat. It was designed by Iron Wrath Industries, and produced by the Iron Empire. It saw use as part of the Iron Imperial Navy, serving the role of a Battlecruiser. Due to the enormous cost of producing such a monstrosity, few vessels were constructed.
Expected to be deployed across a variety of combat scenarios, the Fenrir-class Battlecruiser was outfitted with a diverse range of offensive weaponry. Primarily intended for space supremacy, the Fenrir featured: 30 Heavy Long Range Turbolaser Batteries, 40 Long Range Turbolaser Batteries, 40 Heavy Turbolaser Batteries, 60 Turbolaser Batteries, 30 Long Range Ion Batteries, 30 Heavy Ion Batteries, 40x Ion Batteries, 40x Mass Driver Batteries, 10 Hyper Velocity Guns, and 80 General Purpose Warhead Tubes. These weapons allowed the Battlecruiser to engage enemy vessels at any range. However, it was at its most effective in close-to-mid range combat.
To protect the vessel, the Fenrir was equipped with Primary Deflector Shields, Redundant Deflector Shields, Double Redundant Deflector Shields, and a reinforced hull. While the Primary, and Redundant, Shield Generators sat nestled within the Fenrir itself, the Double Redundant Shield Generators stood atop its bridge tower.
This combination of extreme offensive weaponry, and supreme defensive equipment, left the Fenrir with limited space to transport starfighters. As such, it could house only four squadrons, for a total of 48 craft. So as not to be easy prey for enemy starfighters, the Fenrir was outfitted with numerous anti-starfighter weaponry, including: 50 Point Defense Cannons, 50 Anti-missile Octets, 50 Flak Cannons, and 50 Quad Laser Cannons.
