Intent: Make pretty jewelry that doubles as a protective piece for Corvus.
Development Thread: Pain is an Understatement
Manufacturer: Braith Achlys
Model: N/A
Affiliation: [member="Corvus Raaf"]
Modularity: No
Production: Unique
Material:
  • Alchemized Durasteel
  • Alchemized Silver
  • Braith's Blood
Quality: 9 (Protection Bubble at full power)
Special Features:
  • Lost and Found: While the primary function of the pendant was to keep Corvus Raaf safe, mostly from any form of dark side corruption, it also had a blood trail placed on it. This would allow Braith, if Corvus were ever to go missing - or if the pendant were to somehow be removed from her person - to locate and track the pendant, and theoretically Corvus if she were to wear it, unless shrouded by the White Current, an ability which Braith was unable to both understand or perceive.
  • Daylight: The primary focus of defense with the Fate's Embrace was to eliminate any potential corruption of the wearer, whom in this case was intended to be Corvus Raaf. While worn, any dark side energies within a personal distance of the necklace would be siphoned into the necklace and locked away, theoretically protecting Corvus from protection indefinitely. However, it was obvious that once any object were to become saturated in the dark side it would, too, carry its stench. To work around this, the pendant acts like the Scepter of Ragnos and the Infant of Shaa of old - only without the potential weaponized use. All contents of the force that are stored or imbued, following the original creation of the pendant, are converted from an active form of the force, such as the dark or light-sided powers that might deter another of the opposite alignment, into raw force energy, exactly like the force that is stored within the environment itself.
  • Blockade: Unlike various talisman or other power-augmenting tools of alchemy, this pendant does not allow its stored energy to be used for offensive measures - it instead works on Corvus's biggest strength, her defense. If properly filled with at least a modicum of force energy, the amulet will act as a temporary, one-time, force bubble if an attack were to slip through the cracks of her defenses, sort of like a shield amulet. It is activated on "instinct", detecting danger when in close proximity and deploying a force bubble for a few seconds in order to defend its wearer. This could range from a lightsaber strike, or two, depending on how quickly the strikes are made, to a direct application of the force - like force lightning, or even a telekinetically thrown object. There are limits, of course, as the bubble projected is not invulnerable, and the power of the shield depends on how much the amulet has been exposed to the dark side up until the moment of its use. This shield lasts for ten seconds upon activation, regardless of the severity of the threat.
Description:
The pendant, much like the scepter of Ragnos, has the ability to siphon and store dark side energy from an area of about a meter from the wearer, but at a much smaller scale. This provides a constant siphon of ambient dark side energy, protecting the wearer from potential corruption, and making the dark side aura disappear.

This energy can then be repurposed for the pendant's secondary feature; that of a shield talisman. This provides an innate single use of a bubble of protection around the wearer, expending the stored force energy as a defense mechanism. It will require more siphoning of dark side energy over a period of two to three days, though it's not impossible to do so in combat if others aid to this effect. While in the presence of a dark side nexus this siphoning is accelerated, in that what would be several days now becomes almost half of one.

If the amulet were to reach its maximum capacity it would compensate by discharging force energy at a slightly greater rate than it is being taken in to ensure it remains functioning. If it were somehow to be absolutely overloaded by the dark side at some rate that is impossible for the discharge to keep up with the amulet would become inert and require Braith to reforge it.
