DESCRIPTION

In order to aid ranged units further, the Farshot is essentially a mobile ballista, it is immense in it’s size and as a result is used almost exclusively by the bulkier of the Bryn’adul who are actually able to carry and use it. The size of the bolts likewise look like they came from a ballista and the string and arms were made so that it would require more than just casual strength to pull it, even being able to add a crank as a result.

The Sheer power behind these weapons shots would tear through almost anything that was alive, and even be used to take on the likes of the Rancor or even take down tanks. Again because of their size and power, they were able to send the projectiles well over the battlefield and while it might not be able to take down a sniper, they worked well as their own types of sniping as the crossbow design allowed a much greater accuracy than a longbow.

Again because of it’s more past time concept with use of bolts instead of blaster ammunition, the bolts are easy to alter or exchange whether for lighter ones, heavier ones, or ones such as those tipped with Draemidus Prime Ore so they could cause a good bit of extra damage to a living target, that is if it didn’t simply tear through them anyway.

There were of course, expected disadvantages to the weapon. It took longer to reload then almost any other ranged weapon short of cannons, being closer to a rocket launcher. It required the immense strength of their size to actually load it, which meant that most of the users were of the bigger sizes. And due to a crossbow’s design to handle stress in specific directions, but not others, it was ill advised to use it in melee combat as it could damage the string or tense the arms incorrectly if they were hit wrong. And the closest thing it feature to melee applicability was the butt of the metal weapon.
