Description: With the successful development of the versatile Alliance frigate template used for the Rieekan-class frigate, the Farr-class holds similar promise in reliability of a familiar chassis but diversity in armaments and battlezone tactics.

As characteristic of Admiral Xue's widely-implemented roundabout and quick-striking tactics rather than head-on brawl engagement intents, the Farr-class was created with maneuverability and immediate effectiveness as central to its purpose. The first ship to feature SCION cannons, this escort frigate makes a great companion to clear a path for larger and slower targets to break through a fleet line and take care of business, though it is practically worthless in destructive capability if matched against a typically-armed frigate or heavier vessels. Still, it inherits some of the fighter and missile defense spirit of the Rieekan-class to keep flitting opposition at bay.

As has become a habit with Rebel Alliance vessels, a carbonite coating has been applied to hide from sensors at longer ranges, making the frigate difficult to detect by standard scopes. This helps it skirt sensor detection but does not mean it is entirely stealth, as it will almost certainly be spotted at moderate range by standard military-grade sensors.

The Farr-class frigate operates best with a crew of approximately 150. Its provisions capacity for this amount of operators lasts for a duration of approximately 6 months.

Development Thread: [N/A]
Intent: To create a specialty-role frigate for the Rebel Alliance.

Heavy particle shields
Are the heavy particle shields included in the Heavy, Redundant, Deflector shields? (A deflector shield is a term for both ray and particle shields, which is why I ask)
If not, you will need to choose one of these advanced systems to remove unless a 10 post development thread is included.

[member="Krasnaya Xue"], I'll be taking over this submission. Currently, I'm trying to get a feel for the ship's current offensive power before I make any further comments.

For clarification, what exactly is a rapid-fire turbolaser? It is something like the turbolaser-equivalent of a repeating laser cannon? Or some variety of a light turbolaser better suited for use against starfighters?

Perhaps a little nitpicky of me, but what is the nature of these emplacements? Are they energy weapons (like a point defense laser cannon) or more like physical weapon (like a antimissile octet)?

Exactly that.

Honestly, I'm just going by the generic 'point defense' unit that was listed on the old guide a year or two ago. I guess I've assumed they were more accurate/coordinated anti-projectile light laser cannons.

I've somehow missed that despite having looked at the guide so often in the past. Precedent seems well established.

Weapons look good by at least the old 2.0 guidelines of an assault frigate, with the notion that warhead launchers were traded for more defensive guns.

No warheads

I'd consider this to be a design choice, rather than a weakness, given that by the old gun math, it's basically traded warheads for either more capital or defensive guns.

I'd like to either see this removed, have a 10 post development thread (if it's to be treated as actual stealth tech in an engagement), or be regarded as fluff with no actual effect in engagements.

Otherwise, this looks good to me.
