Fair Trade?

Location: Coruscant
One of the perks of being a Jedi was the fact that Tsuki got free transportation pretty much all the time...well, at least when she was in Alliance space. Free time abound, the girl decided it would be a good time to visit Coruscant, and the old Jedi Temple, back from the Republic's heyday. She'd never seen the colossal structure but she knew it had changed hands multiple times, before being sacked by the Empire and Darth Vader. In truth, the girl was not much for history, but that single structure had always enraptured her. And now she'd finally get to see it.

Stepping off the transport onto the bustling platform, Tsuki got her first real whiff of Coruscant...and it smelled. Not a great start...maybe the higher levels would prove better? The Padawan hoped.

He had been living off the lower levels of the planet for several months now trading and selling parts he found around the city. He didn't enjoy the job but he had a great skill set when it came to finding items of interests to people. He managed to find many parts that were almost impossible to find and many relics of old.

He always liked to scout of the shuttle port for new arrivals to see if anyone had anything they could use or want that he could get for him or sell to them. His eyes glanced over the people as he hid himself off to the side, he didn't to be noticed he just wanted to find someone who he felt he could provide a item or a job to. No one in particular jumped into his head but he decided that he should follow the group perhaps to see if any of them lived any sort of interesting life.

Tsuki did little pushing her way through the crowds, tailing at the end of a group of passengers, they did most of the work for her. But once they broke free of the confines of the spaceport, the whole group dispersed, leaving the young girl standing alone on the still amazingly busy platform. She looked around for any sign of where to go, or maybe someone to ask for directions. Finally, she spotted the polished gold head of a taxi droid.

"Excuse me! Excuse me, how can I get to the Old Jedi Temple from here?" she asked. The droid simply stared at her for a few moments, its bright yellow eyes boring into her. "Fare to the Temple is seventy-four credits." it finally droned. "Seventy-four credits!" the Padawan blurted, "Ok, but I'm a Jedi! Can't I go for free?!"
"Fare to the Temple is seventy-four credits." Tsuki glared at the unhelpful metal droid for a long while before finally turning away, muttering darkly to herself. Guess she'd have to find her own way to the Temple.

He would move towards the crowd pick-pocketing some of them for goods and finally made it to the point where they dispersed he overheard a voice. He listened to the conversation between the girl and the Taxi closely and smiled to himself evilly, if he could get in there he could make some huge scores. Luckily he kept a few hundred credits on him for such occasions where he needed to get around or where he needed to invest for profit in his small little business. He would walk up to the girl unexpectedly and give her a quick run down before beginning to chat her up to get them to go to the temple together.

"Oh you came to see the Jedi Temple too? Would you want to share a cab? It'd really be cool to see it... but I don't like traveling alone... I followed a trader at least this far but now I need someone to go there with me so I can seek something better, I hope."

A slightly disheveled looking man quickly approached the young woman as she began to walk away from the taxi droid and quickly launched into a request to see if she'd travel with him...well...that was a little creepy. Tsuki scrutinized the man carefully. Aside from the fact that he looked like he'd been on the streets just a little too long however, he didn't really seem all that dangerous...maybe a little crazy or a little creepy...but that was it.

"I don't have a lot of money. Can we split the fare fifty-fifty?" she asked bluntly. The girl didn't exactly make a lot of money as a Jedi...or any...to be honest, it was a wonder she had any credits at all...

He nod to the girl and smile, to her it would seem as if he was smiling because he was happy to go to the temple but truly it was because of the money he could make off that old bucket hole. There were millions of credits that could be made from all the old jedi items, he wasn't worried about being caught or getting in trouble, he could figure that out later, all he knew is that he was going to make a lot of money whether others liked it or not.

"Ah Yes spectacular! It is going to be so much fun seeing a Jedi Temple for the first time! Oh I hope it's not a disappointment don't you? But I bet it will be marvelous."

He would then call a taxi and pay his half of the credits and looked at her, "Well come on then let's get going."

The young Padawan smiled politely to the older man, "I'm sure it'll be great!" Her mind however was filled with annoyance as she hawked over her half of the credits. In her opinion, the man spoke too much...and too cheerily at that. Still, he was getting her where she needed to go, and that was enough. She could at least pretend to like him until they parted.

Tsuki opened the door of the taxi and awkwardly clambered into the back seat. No longer was she able to conceal her virboblade, the long blade impeding her ability to actually sit in the seats. She settled for placing it between her legs, point down, gripping the handle. No point in trying to hide the blasted thing now.

He smiled and waited for the taxi and when it arrived he held the door open for the girl, as he did she got in and laid a large vibro sword on her lap and he gulped, maybe this would be a little difficult then he thought it'd be, but oh well. He climbed in and left the seat in between them empty, for the best and paid his half of the credits and looked down at his feet.

"One thing I do hate about these, when you actually are going, huh, weird that someone that has grown up in a age were this is reality he's afraid to use them because of what could happen yet never does."

Tsuki couldn't help snicker a little at the man's comment. "You're afraid of heights?" she asked. "You cannot be serious." The girl had grown up on Tython, feet firmly planted to the ground for a long while until she'd started to learn Ataru. He first time off world had been very recent. Until then she had never flown before. But not she loved it. It was...liberating. To see the worlds from above was one of the most beautiful things she'd ever witnessed. She simply didn't understand how someone could be afraid of heights.

He would sigh and continue to look at his feet shaking his leg a little, his persona completely lost as if his fear and taken his mask and threw it over the edge, he wasn't the fun-loving person he had appeared to be, just one scared man. He shook his head and breathed deeply before looking back over at the girl he was sitting with as she chuckled at him and he held back a snarky comment or lashing out at her for making fun of his fear of heights, it was true but he didn't have any control of it, this was not just really a fear, more like a obstacle that he couldn't cross yet.

"I wish I was, but no I am not joking, it's just different for someone who has lived miles below the surface, only living off the stuff you find in the trash."

[member="Tsuki Aihara"]

"Well put it this way, if we crash, its really just an emergency landing." the girl said with a teasing grin. "Wait, hold on a sec. 'below the surface'?!" she asked, "As in, underground?" Now that was a new concept...the girl hadn't expected anyone to live underground. the rooting through the trash bit, she might expect from some, many in fact, and could potentially explain the man's unruly look...but underground? Who did that?

[member="Jayce Miller"]

"Kid this planet goes way below the surface, and I happen to come from the lower levels, where things like you perish without a noise, or a thought about it. I've been struggling to live since day one, so if you would not bring up my personal life I would much appreciate it."

He would say to her, not yelling but not being sof either staring at her until finally he looked out the window and then immediately to his feet and let out a long sigh as he ran his hand through his hair and closed his eyes and murmured some words to himself before sitting back up.

That made a lot more sense...lower levels...not necessarily underground...yeah...now Tsuki just felt dumb. "Sorry...didn't mean anything by it..." the girl apologized, sinking back into her seat again. She knew she could get carried away with herself on occasion. That was a flaw she'd become painfully aware of on Barkesh.

The girl stared out the window, watching the buildings flit by. In her mind the buildings became the trunks of trees. The other speeders, bright bolts of blaster fire. The music playing from the front of the taxi became the din of battle. Still so vivid in her mind, it was as if she'd never left. Still stuck in the dirt, soaked in blood...

The girl shook herself from the painful memory. She let out the breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding and crossed her arms. She just wanted to get out of the taxi now.

He would glance at the girl as she let out a deep breath, he would raise a brow and sigh leaning back and looking at his feet waiting for the ride to be over. They zoomed throughout the air ways the taxi flying as it made its way to the temple. Jayce continued to tap his leg softly waiting for it to be done.

"We are arriving at your destination."

He would look up at the driver as it pulled up and he got out and helped the girl out of the taxi and watched as it flew off, he sighed and glanced over at the girl, looking her over a few times and noting some new things but nothing that changes his plan all too much.

"Well, are you ready to go?"

[member="Tsuki Aihara"]

The buildings slowed as the speeder did and finally they'd arrived at the ancient temple. Well, at least the surface half that was actually accessible to the public. Tsuki was pretty certain that the majority of the temple was still highly restricted, for multitudes of reasons. Archeology, preservation, danger, or just wanting to keep certain areas secret.

"Well are you ready to go?"

"Yeah...just here touring?" the girl asked. It would seem odd to her that the man was touring, considering that it seemed like he lived on the planet. Still, you never knew.

"Yeah, never really had that force thing to allow me to get out my little hell-hole, but I've never had enough credits to visit till now but I just needed a little more for a taxi ride, until you came."

He said making up a pretty sly story shrugging it off and putting effort into his voice to make it seem like he was really interested and really wanted to see the temple, he did but for different reasons, that he really didn't want his new found friend to figure out, or sense or he could be out a ton of credits to get him out of this stinky and crap planet once and for all.
