LFG Factions You Wanna See?

Well-Known Member
Normally, I would say factions that were more alien, but the Bryn has got us super covered on that!

I've seen some Droid factions before I think, back when HK was still writing, but it wouldn't hurt if there was another one. Droids are just as, if not more so, diverse as an alien faction going major (In fact, I'm pretty sure the Bryn are the only legit alien faction in the board's history, where the aliens are pretty much the only important, if not the only players involved. Which, by the way, is pretty awesome, ngl)

I honestly can't think of anything I'd like to see on the board, that hasn't already been done, or is being done currently.

Actually I retract that, I want a good guy alien faction fighting against prejudice and uplifting the oppressed peoples, where the faction predominately focuses on actual alien characters.

Oh that is exciting! Are you doing a masters degree? What area? What is your thesis about?
Bachelor Degree Information Science, actually! Computer Science's less popular and handsome brother basically. The thesis itself is focused around pattern recognition in emergency medical data and conversations.

Gonna butt out now though, so y'all can go back to nice plotting. ;)

New Mandalorian Crusaders

Having never found the muse for a Mandalorian Character until now, I would like to try my hand in getting involved with a larger Mandalorian Major Faction and experiencing the culture for myself. I've spoken to a few people to try and learn more about the Mandalorians, as I've found it a difficult area much alike the Sith to write accurately and find the muse. Kauri has been a good time so far and I'd love more involvement in this regard.

Obviously we've seen many factions over the past where the Mando's are concerned, although I've always been on the outside.

Honestly, I would like to see a faction similar to the UFP (United Federation of Planets). I know, we have the Silver Jedi Order but there are a few fundamental differences between the two.

You see, the UFP is a primarily Exploration driven government something like that would be awesome. World's would have to meet requirements which could be fleshed out in Dominions and Faction Threads. The Armed Forces would be held to certain standards, there would be room for all types of chars.

But hey, that's just me

Would this be like the original group that was dedicated to preventing future religious wars? Or the second wave that was more corrupt and wanted to see the end of all Force users? Or a mix perhaps?

Deffinately the first one, not the crazy, maniacal thing it evolved into at the time of the Cold War.

So... Star Cabal.....?

Ideas:
Overview

The Star Cabal is a secret society of influential conspirators with the purpose of limiting the Force users control from the galaxy and allowing the ‘ordinary people’ to rule. It is made up of members from every major society and species in the galaxy.

Originally the purpose of the Star Cabal was the preservation of civilization that had nearly been destroyed at the hands of the Jedi and Sith. The members of this secret organization believed that major Force religions were the source of most of the strife in the galaxy. Conservative members wished to put an end to the wars and suffering that ordinary citizens endured at the hands of Force users. To do this, the Star Cabal believed in restoring power to finance and technology, a power that could free the galaxy. Latter members of the secret society came to believe that there was no freedom so long as the Force users remained. Thus, these more radical members viewed that anyone that served either side of the Force was forever enslaved to a religious purpose. Some members even went as far too believe that the goal of the Cabal should be to destroy Force Sensitive orders because only this action would result in the galaxy being united under the common citizen who no longer had to be dragged into crusades and beg at temples. Though the ultimate goals of the members of this society are varied, they all have one goal in common and that is the service of ordinary people in the galaxy.

The Star Cabal believes that the real world operated not through religion or use of the Force but rather through information, money and technology. Their efforts include spy-counter spy work, torture, manipulating individuals and organizations, sabotage, hacking, orchestrating and influencing the media, smuggling, bounty hunting, helping businesses thrive, and many other things. The Star Cabal often hires mercenaries in the pursuit of its goals.

Recruitment and Training

The Star Cabal does not enlist coverts to their cause easily because they wish to remain hidden to the galaxy. Instead, most new members are included into their ranks as young children and raised to believe in the society’s goals. Those that do join latter in life are put through grueling trials of trust to make certain the societies mission remains a guarded secret.

Organization and Hierarchy

The Star Cabal is led by a mysterious figure known only as “The Prince.” Very few have ever met this person face to face, and those that have are still not certain who it is. When the Prince needs to address the members of the society it is usually done in secret messages and cloaked images.

To carry out the day to day operations the Prince enlisted a council of members to oversee operations. The Council is full of representatives who look after certain interests, such as smugglers, crime lords, business operations, financial considerations, political avenues etc.

The only thing I'm worried about is how would we incorporate force users? Most of chaos IS force users... so do we strictly not allow them or do we work with them some other way or?

I was thinking about allowing them to join, but not allowed to be leader types. Kind of like religious/spiritual guides. Somewhat like Zakuul used them in the Eternal Empire, as elite enforcers, and the Scions who predicted the future (ignore the fact that the Emperors and Empress were force users themselvees)
