OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

 • Production: Unique
Material: Void Stone, twine, animal bones
SPECIAL FEATURES

 • Void Stone, with Force-dampening effect
Strengths:

 • Force-Dampening: The talisman reduces the strength of Force powers in its close vicinity (10m).
Weaknesses:

 • Smaller Radius: Whilst larger Void Stones in the form of meteorites were known to have a 100m zone of effect, this smaller, palm-sized Void Stone is only effectual within a 10m radius. Within this radius the extent of its Force-deadening is unchanged, and equal to that of a larger stone. Furthermore, the talisman can be removed from the individual, and does not provide a permanent effect.

 • Nullification: This talisman does not nullify Force powers, (as a Ysalamir would) but merely reduces their strength. Its user is still vulnerable to a Force user's (weakened) powers.
DESCRIPTION

The Weequay homeworld of Sriluur is famous for its mining industry, harvesting the desert world’s rich mineral resources. Copper, and more importantly, gemstones, are foremost among its exports.

As a child, even before his exile, Qrylo was an outsider among his kin; Weequay are communal by nature, but he preferred to explore the deserts alone. Rambling through the arid waste he found little of curiosity, save old farms and abandoned quarries, with one exception.

Deep within the walls of a dusty canyon, the young boy found a body, sun-bleached bones, half-sunk. A darkness shone therein, clasped tight as death within its skeletal fist. An escaped miner’s slave, he supposed, fled with some stolen crystal. Succumbed to the heat. It was not unheard of. The red sun had, no doubt, seen a thousand men die face-down in the sand. But this was different. The sand burned his soles, and yet this stone was ice-cold. The child walked with this stone, and one day a man, the two still never separated. To him, it was a fallen piece of the moon, and so he carved the visage of great moon-god, Quay, into its lustrous surface.

The Weequay build their cities around the thal, great black offering stones. This gem too, Qrylo knew, beheld sacred power. Even for the blasphemy that saw him exiled, he never forgot. For all his sacrilege, forced once more to walk the desert alone, he never forsook it, wandering the stars alone with one last piece of home. It is forbidden to build thal off-world, and yet in his newfound piety, Qrylo could not help but see Sriluur in this stone, and he bears it tightly still, worn about his neck, wrist, or ankle, as the situation should demand.

Like all good bounty hunters, Qrylo learned through killing. A small-time contract, Ord Mantell; rogue Padawan. A wise mercenary knows to stray from Jedi where possible, but a youth? It scarcely seemed a complication. The wide-eyed child struck him with a howl, a great gust of air from his fist, and yet all that touched him was a breeze. He knew even Weequay weren’t this tough; from his expression, the Padawan did too. Bar the profit, it was a pity, but indeed his last words told all Qrylo all he needed to know. ‘...Void Stone?’
This might have appeared uninformative, and indeed Qrylo does not claim to be a scholar; but with a name like that?

It had to be bad for Jedi, and that was good enough.
