It was a tough pill to swallow. Ayden's arrival in Lianna City, the heart and soul of the Outer Rim planet Lianna, hit him harder than he anticipated.
It had been months now since his initiation in the Jedi Order. Months since he was forced to abandon Coruscant; once a temporary abode, now just another bitter memory. Coruscant was still as tender a spot as ever, and Lianna reminded him of Coruscant. Its manifestation and identity as a bustling metropolis made him remember that concrete jungle he once called home.
But Lianna was different, more pristine. It was a city still full of metropolitan beauty, not yet succumbed to the blight of urban decay. The crime and corruption was there of course, just dressed in more sophisticated garb. That afforded the young padawan some small, yet cruel, comfort.
Ayden gathered his belongings and headed off the shuttle. He sauntered through the docking bay towards the busy center of the northwestern port. He was told to meet his mission leader there, a Jedi Knight named Sheila. His blue-gray eyes scanned the area. It was rather hectic, with many deliveries arriving and leaving in quick succession. Drunk men played games of sabacc. He saw a few loners as well, a Devaronian, a Twi'lek, other species he knew no names of. There was even a group of Bith musicians playing out a small tune as they awaited their shuttle. A small thing seemed to be flying around, a pixie or fairy of some sort. Ayden had never seen anything like it. Pretty, he thought. But after a few seconds his eyes diverted, still in an anxious search.
As for as he could tell, there was no indication of another Jedi. Another mission starting off on good footing, he dryly thought to himself. He stood idly in the center of the port, lost on a foreign yet familiar world, with a synthleather jacket hugging his torso and a lonely lightsaber dangling from his belt.
