It was a weird feeling, being free of the ties that bound him within the constraints of a rigid group in society. He'd almost forgotten the wonderful feeling that came with being able to pick up everything he owned and simply leave to the next big adventure. The life of a spacer had never left his heart, though, as it didn't take long for him to readjust to traveling the stars after he was clearly off the radar of the Order. Lucien was far from being able to be found, at least not without the expenditure of enough resources to make it happen.

Then it was a matter of bringing him back, which wasn't possible without attempting to force him to do so. Short of one of the Imperator's finest, there was a small chance in hell of that going well for them, and they knew that as well as himself. All of this meant that Luc would be free to enjoy the status of "Missing" for an undetermined amount of time. Consequences be damned, he'd deal with them in the future. It was well worth the risk for an indefinite, extended break from the chaos of the Unknown Regions.

Normality was all he wanted, and a semblance of that was what he got. Reaching out to his contacts in the spacer guild, Luc had his name reactivated on the roster, and a job was lined up for him shortly after doing so. His repertoire of skills lined up with the contractee, who was in need of what amounted to a mixture of hired muscle in spacer form who happened to know their way around the danger of an archaeological. Being that he was one of the few within the guild whose skillset specialized in the acquisition of items from ruins, temples and the like, it wasn't a surprise that the guild ended up throwing Luc their way.

Arriving on the planet in question in his personal starfighter, Luc had opted to meet them there instead of rendezvousing with them elsewhere. He was already en route to that side of the galaxy when he received word of the contract, and the logistics worked out easier for both parties if he simply met her there to start off. Fortunately there weren't any problems with that on their end, so Luc did his best to make haste there, eventually making his presence known as the nimble starfighter known as Midnight descended through the planet's atmosphere and locked onto the transponder code that was provided after the contract was accepted.

Luc switched Midnight to autopilot, letting the R-4 droid slotted on the wing take over the controls while he unstrapped himself from the chair and grabbed the backpack behind the seat. The droid brought her down to the right of the freighter with a light thud, the mostly graceful landing being followed up in unison with the hatch popping open, exposing Luc to the air of a world he'd never seen. Hopping out of his seat, Luc walked onto the wing and peered off into the horizon. "Let's hope this is a breeze, R4." He commented towards the droid near his foot, who chimed back in binary a few sarcastic words of his own. Luc chuckled, a hand waving at the droid before he leaped off the wing, his feet touching the ground for the first time. "Stay put for now. I'll let you know if I need you." Luc replied, then walked off as the hatch lowered back down and sealed itself shut.

Walking around the freighter, Luc took stock of the vessel while he waited for its occupant to show themselves. He figured his landing had gone unnoticed, but just in case it did, Luc walked up to the ramp and gave it a solid trio of knocks with the heel of his boot. Stepping away from the ramp after, he crossed his arms over his chest and waited patiently to see who he'd be working for.

Blocker upon blocker had hit the poor blonde over and over again. She was always continuously getting herself into some sort of disaster, mostly because when she was told no, she wouldn't accept it. Alyna was the adventurer who knew where she wanted to go but was really bad at getting there. Taking the advice of some people on the holonet, the girl registered with the spacer's guild to hopefully post for someone to just play her meat shield.
Legs crossed as she wore some of her more comfortable lounge attire, she waited to hear for any response, of course, putting up her picture was a bad idea. Her inbox was flooded with all sorts of lewd and disgusting messages. Alyna quickly took the job off the board and burned her current holo device set up. As Kiran blonde watched it burn in a cylinder drum garbage bin, she pulled out her holopad and began to search through the potential ways she could post the job.
Finding a picture of herself that showed enough of who she was so that the person applying for the job didn't get discouraged or fear that it was a trap, but also hiding who she was proved difficult. Either way, Alyna found the perfect one and posted the new job. Unlike her first attempt, she got some hits, but one caught her attention. Getting that good vibe always let the blonde know that it was the way of the mystical Force. Meeting this individual was destiny, maybe. Either way, excitement surged through the archivist as she knew she was finally going to be able to get through that steep terrain that she didn't bother explaining in her post.
Awkward.
OH well, she did post the job as dangerous. Getting a notice that the man was going to be arriving on the planetside soon, Alyna quickly showered and got ready. It had been a few days, but she had been mentally preparing herself to talk to an individual that wasn't a droid and wasn't behind a holoscreen with no face. Alyna dusted off her clothing; looking at them, she wondered if it gave off the wrong impression. Upon exiting the ship, she walked down the ramp, each step gracefully taken as she lowered the hood that covered her blonde hair. Just as the timing was perfect, a wind blew across the lush grassland, they were both landed upon. Her blonde hair brushed with the wind, and her hand forced it back as the sun caught the reflection of her dark headband.
Alyna continued as she smiled as the wind died down for that moment after blowing her soft floral perfume into his face. A soft chuckle and the girl stuck her hand out towards who she assumed was a Jedi. "Alyna, it's a pleasure to met you,"

There was a brief pause after he slammed his boot a few times into the loading ramp. It wasn't his first time having to wait for some unknown entity who'd hired him to do a job, so the suspense which followed didn't phase him all too much. A job was a job, as far he was concerned, but a soft smile did cue up on his face as the thought entered his mind that for once, he was truly back into the game. The life of a free man, traveling the stars and doing what he wanted, however he wanted to do it. No longer was he confined to the life of a Warlord, or a soldier whose duty was tied to what felt like a never-ending war which saw his followers lose their lives as a result of the consequences of war. A part of him had come to accept that fate from before, but things were looking different in the present. His men were safe, hidden away from the Order's conflict while he exiled himself on an extended vacation from the duties that awaited him back on Nirauan. With any luck, the Warlord could once more just blend in with the crowd, now that he was so far from the Unknown Regions of space.

With arms crossed over his chest, Luc waited patiently as he darted his eyes casually over the terrain surrounding the two ships that now sat next to eachother. Turning away from the ramp, his attention refocused onto sightseeing and simply taking in the view that was presented to him. Despite being a thing he did often, it'd been a while since his gaze was able to traverse the landscape without wondering if it would remain the same in the aftermath of the conflict that would soon bestow the planet. He'd come a long way from his roots, and even farther from where he ascended. Simply being able to relax without a care in the world was both a new and old feeling at the same time, as paradoxical as it sounded.

His mind wandered off into his thoughts as his eyes remained drawn in by the planet around him. Even as the landing ramp began to descend from behind him, his gaze didn't seem to shift in the slightest until the final moment where the ramp pressed firmly against the surface of the ground. Peering across his shoulder nonchalantly, he'd end up doing a double-take once the figure in question had finally caught his attention in full with the lowering of her hood. "..Huh" That was unexpected. Typically he didn't find himself being hired by someone who looked like her, and as such his form seemed to shift around to face her fully upon instinct alone.

The woman was beautiful, yet at a glance he could tell she possessed qualities which seemed to confirm that she truly was the one who decided to hire him for their little excursion on the planet's surface. He'd met his fair share of adventurous women since his self-exile from his home, but none of them had ever been the type to involve themselves in the type of work that he specialized in. He found himself enveloped in the sight for just a moment as the wind danced across the pair and the exterior which held an Archelologist within seemed to cause him to lose his train of thought. His nonchalant facade seemed to fade as she walked down the ramp, his eyes attentively following her up until the moment she finally approached him with a hand extended forwards. Another pause followed, even after she introduced himself as a woman by the name of Alyna.

The silence which came was probably not the greatest impression he'd ever made while introducing himself to his employer. Truth be told, Luc had found himself in a bind in which he'd never been in before. The lost stare which peered into her eyes was accompanied by a slight opening his mouth, but no words had exited as he stood there and took in the sight in front of him, until something finally lit up in his head. He blinked, his arms dropping from his chest while the stupor which encompassed his visage had finally transitioned back to his usual cool and collected self. He still felt like he'd been hit with a hook on the side of his jaw, but nonetheless a hand extended to meet her own. "Lucien." He'd introduce himself. "Or Luc is fine, too." He continued, peering forwards without breaking eye contact not once. This Alyna had pretty eyes, and surprisingly he found himself not once being the suave young Warlord he'd grown into in recent years.

"It's nice to meet you too, Alyna. I can't say I was expecting to meet someone like you out here. Well-- you don't find someone as...who looks like you, in this line of work very often. Or ever, really." His cool had returned, but the words exited his lips with a hint of a filter in front of them. Normally he wouldn't have shied away from the charm he'd developed, but it just wasn't coming out right this time. Something about her was different, and he was different as well these days. Even though he was paid for a job, for some reason he just found himself wanting to talk to her on that windy grassland where they'd met.

It was a rare feeling, indeed.
