Eve of Battle: L-49 Coordination

Blatantly ripping off Guy's initiative to get us a little more prepped and organized in Dagobah leading right up to the invasion start dates, I figure we should talk about our plans for L-49. The plot of the thread is centered around a blockade, basically the First Order's attempts to cut off Alliance supply lines to our southern territories.

Obviously some of the fine details depend upon the First Order's exact plans for the battlefield, but no matter how things look I would propose that we divide into three groups or teams. The first will consist of classic fleeters, people looking to bring some serious meterage to bear against the Imperials and their allies. The second will be composed of both starfighter pilots and freighter captains, looking to fend off enemy fighters as well as to to run the blockade. The third category would be our more ground-oriented characters, and that would focus on anything from boarding parties to sabotage to last ditch diplomacy efforts.

Unlike the others, we should have a little more IC time to organize in response to this one, as instead of pressing the assault the First Order is primarily looking to establish a perimeter. Our closest developed worlds to the conflict hex are Sluis Van, Elrood (including nearby Fort Dawn), and Skor. Although this invasion takes place not too far from Sullust, so it would not be ridiculous to use the capital as a starting point if that sort of thing is relevant to your opening posts.

As far as allies from other factions (the Silvers have taken a particular interest), this is something high profile that the GA will not hesitate to blast all over the HoloNet. The blockade is a violation of our armistice, and while I'm sure the Imperials will present their own justifications for such a move tomorrow, from our perspective when the first transport is turned around by force they have committed a crime, and we will gladly accept all the help we can get to break the blockade and bring their leaders to justice.

A few days ago, the SJO organized ourselves in a similiar fashion, though our pilots will be directly supporting our fleeting element. Personally, I'd love hitting up that interdictor station with a strike team, so if an opportunity presents itself during the course of the invasion, then I may take it. From one of the GA writers, we liked the idea of getting caught up in the initial interdiction while delivering medical supplies to the far south, so some of us may be caught up in that for starters. Outside of that, we don't have any specific plans yet as we'll have to see how things unfold on the FO's end.

Our main military force will probably start off from Sullust. IC rationale is that SJO now maintains a permanent prescence within the region post-Ossus invasion as a means of immediate force projection against the First Order when required. From there, we hear the GA's broadcast, and distress calls from our own people and then we'll gradually trickle into the area with our combined forces between writing teams in support of the GA and any Silvers that may gotten stuck in the sector.

Wild Knights squadron will be present and given the hyperspace interdiction, I think it makes sense for them to be in the K-Wing. That way, not only can they capitalize on their illusion skills, but also have the firepower to assist a strike team in taking out the interdiction elements.

Given her family ties and business being in the region, I think Aeshi will also be there.

Plus, her ship has a gadget that lets her bypass hyperspace interdiction.

So, if anyone needs to sneak past the blockade in hyperspace, Aeshi has you covered.

Once the blockage takes effect, and Corellia Digital's merchant traffic is interrupted, my corporate fleet will be responding from its resources in the nearby ORC space as most of our expeditionary (read: combat-oriented) capabilities are focused there due to not paying [member="Bryce Bantam"] protection money.

I'll likely start off doing traditional fleeting and can remain as such; though I may transition into freighter/starfighter if any additional writers are desired there.

Corellia Digital will have a two different variety of droid starfighters supporting this endeavor: interceptors supported by heavy starfighters.

Fleet composition as follows

1x Venator-class Star Destroyer (flagship; 1 squadron)
2x Vindica-class Star Destroyers (8 squadrons)
2x Saotome Hammerhead frigates
3x MC42 balanced frigates
1x Jast 1st Rate pocket carrier (1 squadron)
1x Jast Blackout EWAR support frigate
TOTAL METERAGE: 7,472
TOTAL SQUADRONS: 9 interceptors, 1 heavy starfighter

That's right. The telecom/video game company that's like the merger of Apple and Sony is fielding 3 Star Destroyers. Who needs violent extremist organizations when you have friendly neighborhood Internet Service Providers?

That being said, Corellia Digital will also have its marketing team broadcasting news of the blockage via HoloNet channels.

That sounds good. I talked it over with a few people, and they'll be part of the GA's supply convoy through that sector.

So does that mean your squadron will start out with the convoy?

I'm not sure yet. We can see how things work out when the invasion goes up. K-Wings have hyperdrive, so it would be possible.

[member="Roth Tillian"] Sure thing. At present, I don't know where we go with that particular storyline until the FO shows its hand.

After some more talks, my group is definitely hitting up that station using one of my HIMS enabled stealth frigates that should be able to slip past their defenses. You're welcome to join our team on the same ship, or take your own vessel in, but it would be a good idea if we showed up at the same time in either case. The boarding team is going to come out of Sullust when the time comes.

Working together, our primary objectives should be to seize the control of the station and to disable the gravity well generators while trying to keep the whole vessel intact. That actually shouldn't be too hard to do with the tools that I'm bringing.

Last thing I'll say is that we need keep a grounded approach during our assault of the station. No insta-slicing or going overboard with technopathy. I was at Anoat writing with the FO, and I know that was a sore spot for them. If we respect the defenses they throw up (assuming they're nothing crazy) then I think we'll have a pretty smooth experience on the OOC front.

So, I think I may be mimcking something along with what Lily is doing, being late to the ball. Just for an entrance sake. I'll be jumping in and calling for where I'm needed, until that I'll be fighting whatever starfighters there are, and maybe taking myself to the lead ship.

I have arrived slightly behind the rest of the fleet, as per the interdiction field ripping my portion of the fleet from hyperspace, but I've also deployed all of my fighters. I am waiting for an advisory or orders from superior officers.

WHose battlegroup needs a squadron of knight-level Jedi pilots flying K-Wings?

Or, who needs a capital ship straight up destroyed?
