Tall and lithe with black hair and amber eyes, Evangeline is unmistakable in most settings. In addition, her demeanor and stern visage set her apart from her father, though enough of him is visible in her that a relation can be drawn.
BIOGRAPHY:
The illegitimate daughter of [member="Jared"] Ovmar and a nameless secretary, Evangeline was born and raised on Taris. At a young age, Eva was exposed to the usual holoseries channels at the time which sparked an interest in martial arts. By the time she was nearing her teens, she had delved into various martial arts forms and was proficient in many.
As she grew older, her mother fell ill and eventually passed, leaving a young Eva on her own with nowhere to go. Faced with the decision of an orphanage or one of the many academies the Republic offered to children in her predicament, she opted for an academy of her choosing rather than an orphanage where she'd either be forced to sit until she reached adulthood or be adopted into a family that wasn't her own.
Arriving in Republic space, she threw herself into her studies and found that she had a knack for things in the Republic Naval Academy. As the years went by, she quickly made a name for herself both through her academic success and for her personality, something that tended to drive most other cadets to keep their distance.
Upon graduating, she realized that the Republic, while kind enough to provide, educate, and give direction to her, didn't quite... mesh with her personal viewpoints and concepts to the point where she was often butting heads with superior officers frequently. She spent her time in the Navy, rising through the ranks as she could, but when the time came that her required service had finished, she walked.
Seeking better opportunities and perhaps a galactic nation that fit more to her personal views, Evangeline Ovmar now has the galaxy at her fingertips.

STRENGTHS:
- Way of the Fist - A skilled martial artist, Evangeline has trained in a small number of combat styles since she was a young girl. She holds high ranks in the Echani style as well as a high level in the Bakuuni Hand style. Her skill in Forbelean Defense is, while proficient, less than her proficiencies in her other chosen styles.
- Iron Will - While her sensitivity in the Force is non-existent, her determination and refusal to back down from a challenge has driven her ever onwards. As such, while she may never 'pulverise stone' with her blows like Bakuuni Hand masters may, her focus and willpower are such that she has been able to rise as far as she has within the ranks of the Bukuuni Hand practitioners. In addition, she is often perceived as unflappable under stressful situations; maintaining her composure more and more with the rise of stress and combat as well as earning a strict reputation among subordinates.
- Officer of the Fleet - Trained and tutored under the best minds within the Republic's Naval Academy, Ovmar was often regarded as a promising officer by many staff members and mentors. She has a mind for naval tactics and is known for taking in a situation at a glance. Capable of working alone or in a larger flotilla, Ovmar is quite capable in any role within a larger force, up to and including commanding one.
- Mathematician - Evangeline has always had a knack for mathematics and numerical equations, so much so that she is often capable of completing them in her head when needed. Often, she applies this to any task at hand, sometimes annoying those around her by asking, and then answering, her own formulas before her subordinates can.
WEAKNESSES:
- Ovmar Legacy - While some may know the name and some may not, for Evangeline it doesn't matter. While she does not outright hate her father with a burning passion, she makes every effort to be everything he isn't. While she has never met the man, enough has been passed down that she knows all she feels she needs. Because of this, while she may hold his name, she will do everything she can to distance herself from the man or, if not possible physically, to do so on a personal level at every opportunity.
- Drawing the Line - Some may follow orders to the letter and, to an extent, Ovmar will as well. However, orders that cross the line into questionable morality will find no purchase with Evangeline. While she may not outright tell off the issuer of said orders, commanders may find Ovmar incapable of following them fully, usually from comm equipment failure or sometimes 'unlucky' mechanical breakdowns.
- Bad Reaction - By bad luck in the genetic draw or a direct 'gift' from her heritage, Evangeline is highly allergic to Spice. Exposure to the substance itself is generally safe enough, but once inhaled, injected, or ingested problems arise. The reaction isn't immediately lethal, but if left untreated death is certainly a concern.
- Medical Concerns - Again, by poor cosmic luck or perhaps a twist in the genetic code from her family history, Ovmar has one other allergy. Bacta, the miracle cure substance, causes immediate allergic reactions to Ovmar when exposed. The reaction isn't immediately lethal, but if left untreated can result in death. Also, the substance has zero healing effects on her body.
- It's Not Very Effective - While Bacta has an adverse effect on Evangeline's body, Kolcta does not. However, Kolcta, for one reason or another, is less effective on her than on almost any other being. As a result, healing still takes a fair bit of time for Evangeline, even with the usual miracle cures.
