SPECIAL FEATURES
It’s an ax! It’s a pike! It’s an ax-halberd. This trick weapon circumvents the old adage that combining two things weakens the value of both properties -by using some of the most robust and strongest materials that a ton of credits could forge in the galaxy. An old chunk of forged songsteel shaped in the form of a halberd tip was fastened using durasteel nuts and bolts to a collapsible pole made of songsteel. By pushing on a locking lug at the base of the head the user could “throw open” the tube to its full length and get to swinging and poking. Lightweight, in one handed form the weapon could easily be used with something else preoccupying the free hand.

Strengths:
-Two for the price of one- The user is able to carry two weapons in one package while in melee range.
-Now that’s swift- Such a light tool could be easily twirled and whirled with great skill, while taking little stamina to wield on the field.
-Now that’s sharp- Being edged in songsteel, the tool stays sharp far longer than comparative alloys.
-Mirror sheen; quick and clean- Remarkably easy to polish and maintain.
-Get those disgusting glow sticks away from me- Songsteel maintains a healthy resistance against some lightsabers.
-Slash, bash, and poke- multi-tooled head allows one to offer quite a dance during a chance encounter.

Weaknesses:
-Don’t push me too hard!- While the head and pole are made of incredibly resistant materials, what holds everything together is just durasteel. Overwhelming force on the fastening points on the device could break it all apart.
-Heat? No thanks- While the materials are resistant to most forms of direct damage from things like lightsabers, this configuration doesn't conduct heat very well, so the user could get burned as the tool super-heats.
-Armor penetration? As if- Regardless of the materials used this device is ineffective against armored targets using the latest and greatest in military technology.
-Only for the right kind of Hunt- While on paper this device could be deadly in a duel against a unarmored humanoid opponent, it has been designed to combat beastly threats with centrifugal force based attacks. Extra reach is intended to fell large, foul monstrosities of inhuman nature.

DESCRIPTION
For a hunter in the woods, an ax is an indispensable tool. For a hunter of occult mysteries and eldritch trophies, a halberd of exquisite materials just might be enough to stalk kingly prey. In a combat situation, the one handed ax is used in a basic swinging motion to chop until the quarry drops. Against bigger foes, the two handed extension enables the user to threaten things far taller than the user.

The Major’s mother, matriarch of the tribe, once bestowed this crude looking halberd tip upon the most frenetic of her three daughters along with a cautionary tale involving an old Fallanassi named Esther. Long ago, Esther had lost her way, and forgot what was most important -or so the story goes. Traitorous in the end, the woman was executed. It was said that a man used the gift’s sharp edge to tear Esther into glistening ribbons. Impressionable as she was in her youth, the Major would oft imagine that the songsteel head would glitter in shades of crimson under moonlight. . .

After encountering a Shard by the name of Rusty, a weaponsmith, and helping him procure a chaingun from an accursed tower, the Major quickly realized how effective a long reaching melee weapon could be after being attacked with one. Contracting the forge master, he decided to complement such a promising ax head with a trick baton of songsteel, and thus the Bane could sing once more.
