DESCRIPTION
Eshan Drive Yards, or EDY, is an old name in the shipbuilding game. It has a long history of cooperation with different entities, the most illustrious of which was its long-standing work with Silk Holdings at the height of the latter's power. It was eventually spun off into independence at a profit for everyone involved. Where it has remained as the primary shipyard company for the Six Sisters region and Eshan specifically.

As it stands EDY is one of the largest employers on Eshan and its primary aim remains the betterment of the world and the Echani people as a whole. Its structure is comparable to the large parastatal corporations of before, such as Iron Crown Enterprise. There are roughly three sides with a voice in the company. The Crown of Eshan owns a single vote, the ruling House of Eshan owns another. All the remaining noble houses control exactly one vote. EDY itself controls two votes, split between the Yards Unions and the Executive Board.

This essentially means that the Crown and ruling House of Eshan and EDY itself remain in a close equilibrium, to signify the tight connection between the two. The Noble houses are capable of casting a tie breaker, in the event of a substantial argument between the two previous entities.

RATIONALE
The Executive Board controls the day-to-day operations of EDY, but runs long-term strategy by the Crown and ruling House of Eshan. While the CEO, currently a no-nonsense Echani by the name of Director Zhaga, is elected by the Executive Board they can be recalled by the Crown in the event of no confidence. In such situations the Executive Board must create a new list of candidates and run it by the Crown for final assent, before they can pick a new Director.

As Eshan has gone through substantial turmoil because of war, EDY has been struggling to fill in the gaps. As it stands it receives substantial support from contracts brokered (and approved) by the Crown between itself and various Echani nobility houses.

The primary House in charge of rebuilding the starport of Eshan is House Oreno. As such this House has drawn some measure of influence with the Board and its various departments, as they work closely together for the reconstruction efforts. More noble families are attempting to break into the game and it is only the question if House Oreno will manage to maintain its current favor with the Crown.
