Classification: Mountain Range/Expansive underground cave structure
Location: A sprawling network of caves within and beneath the mountains of Virgillia. The largest entrance is approximately 15 KM from the Bastion of Ren.
Size: Large. Exact size is undetermined as caves are not fully networked but it extends for several miles in all directions including downwards.
Population: No sentient life. Cave Creature, Laigrek, Kinrath and cave dwelling Vornskr have been identified as local fauna
Demographics: N/A
Points of Interest: Crystal Cavern/Creature Nest - large clearing where water flows deep in the cave with many Kyber Crystals. Also the home of large Cave Creature
Description: A narrow entrance hides the depths of the Equatorial Cave network. A vast network of dangerous windy rock caverns lay within Virgillia's mountain range and are home to many predators. Getting lost is a common occurrence as thick layers of fog and mist can rise with no warning, obscuring any traveller's sense of direction. Deep in the cave's depths is a supply of kyber crystals, guarded by the nest of the particularly powerful arachnid Cave Creature.
History: The caves were long seen as a natural wonder of Virgillia. Tourists visited the safe areas frequently while explorers, dare devils and treasure hunters enjoyed travelling the depths so long as they could find their way out and avoid the dangerous wildlife. The cave's true significance however only came with the arrival of the Knights of Ren to Virgillia. Several individuals noticed the unusual concentration of force loving vornskr making their homes in the caves and correctly presumed there was some treasure deep inside. The Ren discovered a number of kyber crystals in the cave's depths. The Ren have now sealed the site off and use the caves as their primary supply of kyber and the cave's perils an appropriate test for initiates looking for a blade of their own.
Intent: Flesh out Virgillia's landscape and give the Knights of Ren an area to obtain crystals for their lightsabers without having to leave faction space.
