SPECIAL FEATURES
Strengths:
  • Force Imbued: Eos has all of the canon effects of said weapons. Resistance to lightsabers, blasters, improved durability, Destruction of force ghosts
  • Reduce Injury: While most of the time this ability is seen as a power to reduce the damage done by a strike upon someone, it is used on this shield to reduce the kinetic impact of strikes, and other such attacks naturally. This will aid in the prevention of the shield being ripped from his grasp, or being battered out of his hand. (This is an aid of resisting the removal of the shield from his grasp. However, powerful strikes or people who are many times stronger than himself can still remove the shield from him. Examples are being hit with a barrage of fire, being yanked from his hand by someone wearing crushgaunts, etc.)
  • Force Resistance: Adding to the shield more resistance is not a bad thing. Including the fact that this shield is to be used against the likeness of the dark side, it has resistance to the force. Thus any gripping by the force, pushes, or otherwise any powers that are used against the shield are greatly reduced.
Weaknesses:
  • Force Imbued: As the weapon is force imbued, should the user enter a nullification bubble, the shield becomea just a plain shield. losing their effects. Force Resistance does not resist nullification, it only reduces force based powers.
  • Physical shield: As a physical shield instead of an energy based one, it can be ripped from the users grip much more easily than another weapon could. Its also more difficult to be in closed spaces as the shield takes up said space. The shield also has some weight to is. its not a swinging weapon. A shield is also not a window. You can't see through it unlike energy based shields.
  • Reduce Injury: The reduction of damage is great for a shield, but it reduces. it does not make the shield completely invincible to damage. Thus, the shield can be damaged or broken. While nigh impossible when outside of a nullification bubble, very possible when in one.
DESCRIPTION
As long as there has been wars, and battles, there has been a sword. A primitive weapon that can be use to great effectiveness by the wielder. However, when combined with the use of a shield in the off hand, it can make one man increasingly more difficult to overcome, let alone defeat.

This had inspired one Jedi Knight who created a weapon to signify his mastery in the force. Galadriael Amoren crafted this shield to be used as a companion to his sword Helios.

Used almost purely for defense, it can defend the user from a wide array of strikes, attacks, and even the force! Enhanced by the creation process, the shield can defend very well against the force. Withstanding pushes and pulls. Even offensive strikes of the force to reduce the damage or impact of said abilities.

It is resistant to many forms of other attacks. Lightsabers, blasters, slugthrowers, and much more. Reduction of the attacks seems very clear as a strike that could cleave a man in half, hardly does any damage to the shield itself. Crafted for the specific use of defense, it is the one defense that can stand the test of time.

Hello, I'll be the factory judge reviewing your submission. If you have questions, please feel free to respond to this thread once we are underway.

As with the blade; the Force imbuement thread is unfinished, and thus unviable as a RM mission. I'm willing to allow two items with this same rm mission since they're a 'set', but please make the thread relevant and complete. Currently it's barely touched upon the mission requirement.

improved durability/sharper blade
  • Is the shield sharpened?

  • Combined with the additional force powers (Force resistance & Reduce Injury) this is not balanced at all. Please add a significant Weakness and tone down some of the resistances. Dipping into the sub-Average spectrum would do wonders here.

[member="Netherworld"], Edited out the sharpness as this is no blade. I missed it in trying to move information over with copy and paste.

I am new to the idea of using the "Below/Average, High, Very High" systems instead of the number related system we used to use a few months ago as I just came back from an LOA. I went ahead and edited them all to be Average. My assumption is this.

Average=The normal expectancy of lightsaber resistance compared to other lightsaber resistant materials? And all the levels higher than it are more powerful forms of Lightsaber resistances.

If I am assuming this correctly, then the shield entirely should just be Average all the around in the rating system. Never intended for it to be able to withstand literally anything. Just a majority of things. If I am being a complete ass about this and ignorant of the new system, Then please let me know. I'd rather not want to have this same mistake on another submission.

As stated in the sword thread as well, If you feel its necessary for these to be archived until the second thread is done, as I have no clue when it will be done, then you may do so.

We're all new to the Ratings systems, it's all good. :)

As far as the qualifiers go, they're meant to consider the whole spectrum of materials available. Going with your example, it'd be more like this (for Lightsaber resistance):
None through Low = Non-metals. Fabrics, weaker plastics, etc.
Average = normal metals like durasteel, etc
High through Extreme = stuff ranging from armorweave to turadium, some creature's scales/hides, etc. Beskar and phrik would be sitting at the very top, with RMs distributed through the ratings depending on coverage / usage / other factors.

Hopefully that explains it a bit. If you have other questions, feel free to ask.

As for the thread, I'll need it to be finished before I can approve either of this items, yes. I'll archive this and the sword, and you can PM Cira, Jamie Pyne, or Raziel to get it back to judgment once it's done. :)

  • This really doesn't feel like much of a weakness when the weakness above it is essentially the same thing. This weakness only serves to highlight an impression that the ratings of this shield are drastically higher than what is currently listed as Average across the board.
Furthermore I'm not comfortable with a blanket resistance against any and all Force powers across the board.
