Gabe,
I have no idea when you'll get this message and when in relation to my disappearance on Belgaroth. Or if news would've reached you about my involvement in a botched mission with the Alliance. Regardless, after my time with you on the homestead, I consider you a dear friend and a trusted ally. And I need someone on the outside.

I've been taken by a Sith Lord, one who is also adept at technometry. Please don't be alarmed. I'm going to use this as an opportunity. I couldn't risk contacting you until now but I am confident that this transmission is well secured. I've also set up a channel to receive messages. Only use the codes attached.

If something goes wrong, I wanted, no, needed one person on the outside who was aware of my intentions in this precarious situation. And that person is you, Gabe. If I gather any useful intelligence, I'll send it to you, via this secure channel, which will likely need to change soon. I trust you to handle it accordingly.

I don't expect to get out of this situation unscathed. But I do believe the reward outweighs the cost. While I am confident in my coding, there is always risk to the recipient of these messages. If this is too great of a risk for you to take with your family, I will find a new recipient for my intelligence reports.

Just, let me know,

Spark Finn

P.S. I left some bbq chips in my room for Ava.

P.S.S. Make sure you click 'yes' to all updates as they pop up on the server monitors in the basement. And Mrs. Brandt sometimes needs help with updating her farming software a few houses over. She makes really good dewberry pie.

Ham. Lettuce pulled from the yard. Homemade mustard. Ankarres Honey. Thick cut bread from Barons Hed. All pressed together and seared on each side. And it slid across the table as Gabe sat down to an inbox indicator he didn't realize the computer had.

Taking a bite out of the warm sandwich, he masticated for a moment while pecking at the board, trying to sort out how to turn off this blasted mailbox icon. Shaking his head, mouth full and chewing, he turned towards the stairs that led from the basement and yelled for Dick. For once, the silence that followed wasn't appreciated or wanted. After all, Gabe was hardly fluent with this specific computer. Ships, sure, but these things were getting complex and he was starting to regret having some intern from the Galactic Alliance set this up.

"Blasted droid. There when you don't need him, gone when you do..."

He clicked on the icon. Nothing. He double clicked. There we go.

The window opened to reveal the contents of the message within. The computer even had that symbol that indicated proper encryption, which he assumed was what the lock symbol across the top meant. If it satisfied Galactic Alliance standards, that was enough for him. For some reason, he had remembered being better at this.

Reading through the message, he shook his head and frowned. He hadn't seen Spark in what felt like ages and truthfully, he hadn't thought about what might have happened to her. With his recent injury on Lujo, and the failure that it came with, he had become self absorbed and disillusioned with the Alliance. He couldn't even remember the last time he spoke to Omai.

Clicking the reply button, he began to peck on the board.

Spark,

Don't worry about us. Where are you? They have kept me in the dark in regards to certain missions and I am relatively uninformed.

Who is your captor? It can't possibly be [member="Darth Vornskr"]. He wouldn't know technometry if it rose up and smacked him across his big head.

Write back often and tell me what you need. Ava and the kids miss you.

P.s. Yeah, I ate those already.

P.s.s. So long as it doesn't try to reset my browser...As for the software, well, dewberry pie does sound nice.

Gabe,
Your message brings me courage. Even more than a fresh cup of cafe. But it makes me miss your sandwiches, too. And kept in the dark? I fear I have not kept up with you as much as I should have. Is it such a sorry excuse that I'm finding more time to reach out in my incarceration?

Vornskr? Feth no. I would've been dead ten times over by now if it were true. But by his hand or my own I'm not sure. Didn't you kill him awhile ago?

Have you heard of Darth Adekos? I think he's had his eye on me since I was a brainwashed pupil of Darth Carach. I'm on a vessel he refers to as the Lucrehulk. I don't know where we are. His codes are proving difficult to hack - even for me. He is brilliant in his own way, however indoctrinated he may be. I may have to become more like him. It's difficult to predict how close I'll need to toe the line between darkness to keep this ruse up.

Today the darth told me I was to get some sort of training planet-side. I don't know when I'll be able to write again. I hope it's soon. And I hope I won't lose myself too much in this larger endeavor.

Your Friend,
S. Finn.

P.S. You better get Ava more chips.

Spark,

Yeah, I killed him. But it seems he just wasn't prepared to let go. I had visions of his revival but when we went to Lujo, to prevent it, we failed. The alliance failed. But we can't be kept down and you shouldn't either.

I knew Darth Adekos as well as Darth Carach, during my time as captive with Reverance. It's odd that when we are incarcerated, we learn to value things differently. It shifts our priorities, gives us appreciation for things we normally take for granted, and changes us fundamentally. I suspect you feel that now. Though I urge you to be careful. Taking on training in the darkside is a dangerous journey, even when done for noble reasons. It's one from which few return.

What did the planet look like, where you trained? The Sith are so often polarized towards the barren and dilapidated. I think it helps them with their moody temperaments and selfish ways.

Be careful that you don't dive too deep. That you can't come back.

We'll talk soon,
Gabe

P.s. But then she'll be suspicious of why I'm giving her chips. And then if I fess up, I'm liable to get a glare or worse. Can't do it.

P.s.s. Computer is asking me if I want to make Czerka News Incorporated my default browser. Think I might have gotten a virus or something. Or maybe Dick was messing with the computer again.

Gabe,

Your words of encouragement are like breaking new codes and finding firewall loopholes: refreshing. I'm on the planet now. Though, I don't know if I'll still be by the time you get this message. It's a jungle world with primitive people. I imagine their ancestors' ancestors were marooned on some sort of colony ship long ago. The planet is filled with acklays and other deadly beasts. I faced one with the natives this morning.

I think I'm in an arena. Darth Adekos seems less likely to give up so much control, especially since he recently got his gauntleted fingers around me. Can you picture me going native? There's not a strand of blonde hair left uncovered in mud. So is my skin. I gave up my glasses and the worst of all, my converse!

If I could risk sending a selfie, I would.

I thought I could hide from him, by disguising my appearance but fighting the Acklay seemed too easy. I think he found me, somehow, but I can't sense any droids around. He's using some sort of technology that can't be sensed even by a technopath. It's both frustrating and impressive.

There's something else. The darth is connected to the sith triumvirate. I've dug up other names too: Darth Orcus, Darth Carach (no surprise here), and Matsu Xiangu. That's all I have for now. If I survive this jungle world, more Intel should be forthcoming.

Your friend,
S. Finn

P.S. Good call. Ava is too smart.

P.S.S. Run the x-pro anti-virus software. It's the jawa icon in the upper right corner. That should take care of the virus. Taking care of Dick is another thing entirely.

Spark,

I spent some unexpected time on Tatooine, in their arenas run by a mob boss. Not the most enjoyable memories I have. But I do recall one very important thing: Mud and dirt are very good for sun block. Keep that in mind, nothing wrong with going a little native when it suits. Send selfies when available, I'm attaching a picture of the twins.

Darth Orcus, a former member of the One Sith. Darth Carach, former voice of the One Sith. And Matsu Xiangu. She is one that Reverance knows all too well, more than I would care to admit. And she is far more dangerous than she appears, be mindful of your thoughts around her. The same goes for Carach. After all, he trained Matsu in mentalism.

I have not heard of the Sith Triumvirate, though truth be told I have been quite removed from the galactic arena. My specialized knowledge of the One Sith is slowly fading as the days go on, despite the foot hold they maintain in the universe. I suspect we will be invading them soon enough, launching a devastating attack. One I suggested back when the Alliance held me captive. Something to which you can now relate, I'm sure.

We could use your help here, whenever you feel like coming back home. The Acklays will be there when you go back, but the twins will only be young for so long.

Keep your head up. They only win if you let them.

Your friend,
Gabe

P.s. Alright, removed. Now to get rid of Dick, once and for all. Might invest in an industrial trash compactor. Think the Expeditionary Force will let me expense that?

Gabe,

Selfie of me in my mud gear attached. When I was finally invited back to my other prison, Lord Adekos' ship, I took a sanisteam shower for 25 minutes! No regrets. The environment will be fine.

And the twins look good. Reminds me that there's a world outside of this. It's good for the deeper I go. To be reminded of the lighter things.

Here's some recent intelligence. There seems to be a lot of movement on Ruusan. I'm not sure if they're preparing for a battle. Again, I'll let you deem what's necessary to do with this information. I have two jobs coming up. One is at Chalacta. The triumvirate seem to be making a move. I promised to help Lord Orcus to deal with a pirate problem.

I mean it's THE freakin' Lord Orcus! The sith that started an orphanage? He's a freakin' whale. I'm a little star struck. But it's like being star struck over a shark. If I'm not careful I'll probably lose a few limbs.

For the second job, I'll be working with a sith lord named Cameron Centurion. Ever heard of him? Any advice or tips?

The more and more I spend time with these darksiders I'm surprised by how different their agendas are from the One Sith. Don't get me wrong, they're still ruthless. But Lord Orcus actually started an orphanage? Proves things aren't black and white. I'm not sure if Cameron Centurion will surprise me as well or only add to why I'm doing this in the first place.

I miss you,
S. Finn

Spark,

It concerns me to see you write like this. The Darkside can be very tempting, but it is inherently deceptive. It can convince you that feats, powered by its affinity, can be good. And they can. But we have to remember that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. The Galactic Alliance doesn't cater to the perspective that the world of good and evil exist in shades of gray. Good and evil, black and white, it's the reason I spent so much time in a cell suspended above lava. I know the power of the Darkside, I know that it can be used for good. But I also know that when push comes to shove, it can and will do harm.

I know of Darth Orcus and of Cameron Centurion. Though I had more experience with the former, the latter is preceded by a certain infamy. They are both unique figures of a community largely committed to atrocities and evil acts, I will give you that. But remain cautious about the trust you put in them, remain vigilant of your thoughts, and remember that no matter what, a Sith will always put themselves first.

As far as I know, the Galactic Alliance has not seriously entertained the notion of engaging the Triumvirate. The One Sith, while stagnant in their recent work, is still the greater threat simply by their expanse. We intend to take the fight to the heart of that nation, removing their impact from the worlds held beneath their heel.

Be careful Spark, you have people here who would miss you if something were to happen. I should know, I'm one of them.

Your dear friend,
Gabe

P.s. Nice pic, even better file name.
P.s.s. Yep, I have a delivery service that brings caf in every other week. Not sure it's your favorite every time, but I enjoy variety.
P.s.s.s. Please, be careful.

Dearest Gabe,

Maybe that word is a little too much. Dearest. But you are dear to me. I want you to know I take your warning seriously. It's hard not to think like a wolf when you're among them. I'm glad the Alliance is moving on the One Sith. But take heart. We can't afford to focus on one enemy only to have an attack come from behind. The Triumvirate have the potential to grow.

I think Lord Orcus knows about me.

I don't have much time. I'm going to try and get out. I'll try to reach you if I need help.

I promise I'll try.

Love and thanks always,
Spark
