Encounters on Coruscant

@Abbigail Knight

It really was unlikely, and truly was incorrect to think the droid had suddenly developed emotion for the young woman. Her offer was merely based on the premise that Doll got the feeling the organic female playing pretend with her actually was attracted to other females. Thus after seeming to have taken particular pleasure in the last kiss, the offer of another one might provide enough incentive to keep the Miraluka girl behaving long enough for things to go as the human replica droid preferred.

And how could she not continue thinking along those lines as Abbigail placed another kiss on her face and nuzzled against her. Especially as well when the organic agreed to do what she said right after the offer was made too. Certainly an abnormal specimen of an organic. Intelligence wise though perhaps the Miraluka was representative considering how dim the server seemed as well. All organics are so inferior! It nearly made the droid want to sigh with the voice she was given, but she digressed. There was an organic she needed to be worried about. The one hunting her who posed a threat.

So while her organic counterpart handled talking to the waiter, Doll occupied herself with surveying the cafe again and checking for any mirrors or reflective objects that would allow her to see outside behind her. When she did find such objects, a pair of mirrors and several hanging pans and what not, the droid found she was being addressed again by the female on her lap. A small part of the machine did find some humor when the organic mentioned being comfortable. Because an organic in her position wouldn't be having had to shift a scabbard and pair of holsters around to sit and still maintain the weapons secrecy.

Grinning happily still in her role, Doll was quite taken aback again when the young woman asked her name. Again only furthering cementing the girl's strangeness in Doll's mind that somehow for some reason the female had grown attached to her. All the same if she was already being hunted it likely wouldn't hurt to give her name to an incapable organic. Not to mention the droid was beginning to suspect she could make future use of the girl if she had any use at all as a Miraluka since she apparently seemed to actually like her. Conclusion. Play nice.

Wrapping her hands around the young woman, Doll hugged her close with a sigh as she continued putting on the appropriate expressions and tone as programming dictated from when it was put into her. It was her specialty to get others to like her. "it's Doll. And sorry about before. I believe you now. And I was being honest about the kiss if you keep behaving and we're alive at the end of this." Her disgust with the organic's weakness may have blinded her. Taking the time to properly consider a Miraluka's uses and abilities. In fact it was slightly interesting to consider how to begin to study the sight of the force. As a droid, specifically a sentient and free one such as herself, Doll knew about the force, but unlike most organics did not feel or interact with it. She knew about the Jedi and the Sith from galactic politics and their roles. However, she had never seen the force in use. In records it did mention the Miraluka's connection to it, but considering now how Abbigail saw the blaster bolt coming earlier when she could not fascinated her. Not that this suddenly altered her opinion on the organic. Just that she needed perhaps to be less. . . .forceful with the woman. She tended to consider organic's usefulness or needs a tad slow sometimes.

As she giggled and held the other closer, Doll wondered how or if it such a power could be duplicated through machines.

"Oh!~ Doll, huh?~ That's a really cute name!~" Abbigail said, feeling much more cheery now that Doll believed her and was being much nicer. Plus, Abbigail wouldn't mind another kiss, as she had been quick start liking the droid once it started playing nice with her; she found the droid quite attractive, after all. That didn't mean she wanted anything past that kiss, as she hadn't yet forgotten, entirely, that this was supposed to be an act. But she could be easily convinced to go on an actual date with the droid, if the droid ever wanted to -- which, as unlikely as it was that the Droid was interested romantically in Abbigail, was still possible in the case that Abbigail proved useful and easy to manipulate. She had done half of that already, and was on her way to proving useful as well.

Abbigail was given a bit of a surprise when, not even a few minutes later, Je-Strata returned with the exact order she had rattled off to him. She thanked the boy and quickly took her tea, sipping it carefully only after blowing gently on it in an attempt to cool the liquid. She still burned her tongue slightly on the tea, whimpering a bit and setting the cup down, clasping a hand over her mouth tightly. A little tear welled up in her left eye as a reaction to the pain, but she wiped it away quickly and looked at the HRD once more, asking, "Hey, so... Do you... I mean, can you even really taste stuff?" She wondered, because most droids had no need to eat; in fact they rarely had the ability to open and close a 'mouth' on their face.

While Abbigail was enjoying the now-slightly-more-pleasant evening she was having, Stalak the Anzat was getting closer and closer to the little diner, smiling evilly as he thought about all the credits he would receive in exchange for hunting down the HRD 'Doll'. He was only five minutes away now, and Doll hadn't moved anywhere yet. The young one with the droid would also likely prove a tasty treat to feast upon, but that would have to wait until after the droid was dealt with.

"Thank you. My. . . father picked it out. What about you?" The Loronar Human Replica Droid could tell the human was relaxing somewhat, now that she had begun to placate her more. This organic is very trusting and easily swayed. How evident to the fact that organics are weak and exploited without them ever knowing. Although the droid herself had to admit a bit of pride over the compliment to her name. It wasn't exactly the sort that was taken seriously, so it ought to have had some desireable quality. It often made her wonder if her designer had put any serious thought into it, along with the names of the others in the prototype line. Then again anything was better than a number designation like most droids wound up with. It is only fitting though. I am a superior machine to standard droids. We HRDs are a breed apart from the stock such as protocol or even battle droids.

The arrival of the tea though brought about new questions. Ones Doll was actually used to answering the one referring to her ability to taste and consume food for organics. Not that it wasn't slightly bothersome though. The answer was always quite an obvious one. Taking a sip, Doll giggled at the organic's misfortune, which she truly found humorous as another evidence to their weakness, as she explained. "I and my fellow HRDs in Loronar Corporation's prototype line all have the capability to taste and eat/drink. It is primarily because we could thus screen for poisoning without being suspicious. It is useful for determining opposing negotiator's hostility and to protect organic counterparts we might be working with at the time."

So far so peaceful. Doll wondered if she had somehow given the mercenary the slip. Perhaps it would be best to deploy Abbigail as bait soon then to lure him back out if it'd work even. If not he'd certainly come if she stood out, perhaps heading to the upper levels with the Miraluka in tow?
