Private Encounter on Koldut

"Night on Koldut" (Song)
Time: 18:00, Sun preparing to Set.
Tags: Octavius Bellator Octavius Bellator
Area: Kalas family royal palace, Koldut

Of course it was rather late in the night, the sun Kal' as many on the planet called it was setting on the palace as the court and royal family were finishing their nightly dinner. Of course; everyone was living their normal lives, conversing at the dinner table while eating the lavish meals prepared by the royal cooks. Along with celebrations from the recent wedding of lord okre and lady okre had brought left over cake to the dinner table as the small court feasted on the meal and their special dessert. "Marcus, how have classes been?" Maria asked her little brother as she sipped on her corellian wine that was just recently imported. "They've been fine.. rather boring. I'd rather just graduate now and become a pilot or something" The young lad said as he began finishing up his while looking back over to his sister. "Well, when you finish your schooling you can be whatever you want.. alright?" She said as her advisor approached her.. of course, she had a healthy relationship with her little brother; however ever sense their fathers passing, everything has seemed slightly off between the two.

Nonetheless, her advisor approached and whispered to the Queen.. and it wasn't long before she rose from her table and nodded to her brother and two court members who, also rose and walked off, walking to their specific rooms, leaving the hall empty except for the guards, the advisor and the queen. Likewise, as the two began conversing about boring political matters; the palace guards began to shift the active roles, allowing some guards to rest as the new fresh guards went on for the night shift.

Along with all of this on the outside of the palace where the ocean met up with the jungle that surrounded the palace, the three landing pads that were connected to the palace were open with guards sitting near the railings looking out at the nature that surrounded them. Of course minor movement could be seen as local fauna moved around the trees and bushes, and fish skipped out at sea.. with the occasional Koldutian Whale breaching the water in a magnificent sight. Nevertheless to skip to the point, it was a rather calm and peaceful night as the palace lights began to activate on the outside as the sun officially set on the planet.. and with that; began the new guard shift.

Octavius felt rather foolish. He had heard about a planet known as Koldut not that long ago from one of his contacts. The validity of the information had been in doubt, as the contact themselves had only heard rumors of the planet from a friend, who had themselves overheard two rodian smugglers talking about a new trade route they had found. The only reason the rodians had found the trade route was that a dozen monks of some weird religion had gotten lost and stumbled onto a small asteroid base, where the owner of a local pub had talked about a nearby world where they could get their bearings. Octavius had been, understandably, uncertain of the validity of the claims. What he found however was well worth the hour-long drunken ramble.

As Octavius entered orbit above Koldut, having purchased passage on board another smuggler ship, he had proceeded to make an atmospheric entry using nothing but a bank of heat shields, and an unbearably slow thermal parachute. The smugglers had told Octavius that the people of Koldut were very xenophobic and did not let outsiders land. All trade happened in orbit, and as space tended to bore the young aristocrat, he had decided he needed to get to the surface another way. He landed in a small farm several kilometers from the capital city, only to see the smuggler ship he had just jumped from coming in for a landing at a large spaceport in the distance.

His vengeance against the smugglers was going to be slow and painful he promised himself as he waded through the waist-deep muck.

After several hours of walking, he had made it to the city. A local roughly Octavius's size was loitering outside a rather shady club, lighting what looked to be a death stick. Octavius had pulled him into the alley, knocking the man out and trading clothes with him. The pitch-black thermal suit would most likely stand out, and being caught now would simply be a waste of all he had gone through to get this far. Pulling the man's gloves on tightly, Octavius glanced up at his destination in the distance, the palace of the rulers of this world, or so he had been told. He supposed he was going to have to hold everything he had been told about this planet it doubt. This was a relief in some ways Octavius thought as he began making his way towards the palace.

He would not have to worry about flying gundarks here.

Of course, as Octavius made his way to the palace; he had to would've had to journey through the Tiberian forest; a temperate forest that separates the local town from the palace itself. Of course it wouldn't have been that long of a walk but.. it would've a creepy, and slow one as he would've needed to pass through a few rocky passes; and passed near a Fliis hive that was engraved into a rock formation; however while being gross and huge, they were barely hostile. Nonetheless this would finally lead to Octavius ending his journey at the eastern perimeter of the Palace; with the trees clearing out of the way the ornate but beautiful design of the palace came into view. Along with that, four Shipment speeders came into site.

Whether it was luck or sheer chance, the shipment speeders coming in were heading straight for the main central palace as they were supplies for the queens upcoming feast. So this opened up a way for him to sneak in if he so wished to. However, if he simply wished to just walk into the palace he could simply walk up to the guards and request a meeting with the Queen; or.. he could go in forcefully by scaling the wall or by going through the main entrance 'guns blazing'. Whatever he did, it was his choice.

Likewise, on the inside of the main central palace Maria was finishing up her conversation with the advisor; of course the two nodded to each other as they had finally come to an agreement on what they were discussing. Moreover, Maria smiled and stood from her chair, beginning her walk through the halls of the palace; of course she nodded and smiled to each guard she passed by as she headed for the outer inner palace to walk around the gardens that surrounded it. Of course, as she arrived she asked for no guards; wishing to have some peace from constant barrages from other people's questions. She loved the queens life, but.. it was starting to weaken her more and more.

Octavius watched the convoy of vehicles approaching the palace from his small hiding place near a shrubbery he had found. It was a nice shrubbery, though it smelled a bit fishy for some reason. He decided not to focus on that as he turned his full attention back to the palace. Since stepping foot on the planet, Octavius had sensed a strong force connection on the planet. After traveling for a while, seeing enough of the locals to decide they probably would not know what he was talking about if he started questioning them. The best chance he had of tracking down the force connection would be to break into the palace, and hopefully find some kind of records. Either that or he could just blow up the palace. His fingers kept twitching towards the bag slung across his back, and he had to forcefully restrain himself.

He needed to move.

As the last of the speeders were approaching the palace, Octavius rose to his feet and sprinted forward, jumping up and propelling himself through the air. He had waited as long as he could, with the speeder being far enough away from the gate that any observers would not see his actions, and the sudden weight change could be seen by the crew as something minor at the end of their trip. Reaching out, he gripped the side of the speeder and used his momentum to pull himself fully into the speeder, ducking his head down as the pilot looked back to see why the craft had shifted suddenly.

He waited in the speeder as it made its way through the palace checkpoint. Just as the pilot parked the speeder, Octavius reached up and pulled the man down into the back of the speeder out of sight. Two quick jabs to his neck and he was unconscious, and Octavius quickly changed into the man's uniform. Once done, he quickly hopped out and began to help to unload the speeders, taking the food inside to the kitchens along with the others in the convoy. After several trips, Octavius deemed it was safe and slipped into a small passageway near the kitchens. Tossing aside the small hat he had been wearing, Octavius took a second to tap a small device on his wrist, and a holographic image of the palace lit up above his arm. It was not a perfect map, as it was basically just a form of echolocation. But, it showed him roughly where rooms were and where people were walking. It would have to do. Rising to a low crouch, Octavius turned and began to make his way further into the palace.

Of course this would all successfully go through and Octavius would see no resistance as the peace on the planet had blinded many of the guards into believing that there was no threat to worry about; therefore, nobody would really want to break into the palace. Nonetheless; the convoys would've led Octavius to the outer inner palace, of course the other two broke away to head to the back while the one with the now Unconscious driver sat in its place as octavius got out. Funny enough, as he emerged the first person he could see was the Queen as she was wandering around alone in the gardens of the outer inner palace minding her business.

Nonetheless, Queen Maria simply whistled as she brushed her hand up against some flowers, breathing in and out as she enjoyed her alone time in the garden.. sadly for her she didn't realize that it might be soon interrupted by an unexpected guest for the night. But besides that, she simply continued wandering through the garden, while thinking to herself about what she had to do tomorrow..

Lastly, on the inside of the palace commotion could be heard as the guards on shift began yelling and laughing, clouding some of the noise and making it easier to sneak around as their noise echoed through the halls and all the way outside of the palace.

Octavius made good progress through the Palace, made so much easier by the distraction the guards themselves were making. He even gave up the thought of stealth, simply nodding his head to others as he continued on his way. He had spotted a woman in the courtyard before he entered the Palace, and by the way, she dressed, he had assumed she was a member of the nobility of the world, though her exact rank was not entirely certain to Octavius. He sensed a strong connection to the force within her, though he did not go out of his way than to interact with her. He would rather not get caught in public yet and cornering a member of the nobility around the guards, even in their current state, was a questionable idea at best.

So, he focused on finding the records held within the palace, eager to see if he could find out exactly who the woman was he had seen earlier, and if there were other force users on the planet. He was focused on his trail of thought when a picture hanging on one of the walls of the palace caught his attention, and he came to a halt. Taking a few backward steps, Octavius looked up at the hanging picture of Maria Kalas Maria Kalas and the rest of her family. Octavius folded his arms across his chest as the revelation of who he had seen earlier, and the fact she was almost entirely likely to be the reason he had come here stumped the young Sith for several seconds.

After a brief pause though, Octavius let out a single sentence, before turning and sprinting through the corridors of the Palace back towards the courtyard from earlier. "Son of a..."

Of course; while Octavius was wandering around the halls; a camera had been watching over him.. however, for some reason the security simply wasn't doing their job tonight, or, they simply thought he was some adviser wandering around the palace in a suspicious manor. Nonetheless though no attention was given to him, even as a guard saw him from the end of the long halls, no attention was given what so ever. Likewise; while this all was going down the young queen continued wandering throughout the garden of the courtyard, while entering into a poorly lit hedge maze.

She smiled as she reminisced to when she was younger, where she would run around these mazes, ignoring all the troubles of the world as she explored the hedges and spent many afternoons losing herself in the bushes. Of course, these thoughts made her slightly cry as the stress of being a monarch was getting to her finally however.. it made her smile as she knew one day, her child.. or another child would be running around these mazes or running around happily in general because of the choices she made as the Monarch.

Nonetheless; she calmed herself down as she exited from the maze, entering into the courtyard as she sat down on a bench. Of course she began simply dozing off as she rested her head on the bench as a guest she wasn't expecting approached from the halls.

Octavius approached the end of the hall, coming up rapidly on a set of stairs set near a large decorative window. It was a nice window, he supposed, lots of colorful glass in shapes that others might find pleasing. At the moment, however, Octavius could only think of one thing as he stared at the window directly before him. He bypassed the stairs entirely tucking his head down and bringing his right hand up, sending a quick burst of force energy in front of him. A moment after the window shattered, he was leaping through the opening.

Windows made excellent shortcuts after all.

Falling through the air, Octavius oriented his body around, doing a few spins in the air. He had followed his senses as to where he assumed the force-sensitive was, and, theoretically, she was somewhere below the window. As he plummeted towards the ground, Octavius spotted her on a bench, relaxing in a courtyard on the Palace grounds. With a final bit of effort, Octavius spun his body through the air, sending a quick burst of force energy below him to soften his landing. The impact still sent vibrations up his spine, but he rolled into the landing, coming up in a somewhat kneeling posture a few meters away from Maria Kalas Maria Kalas with a small smile on his face.

"Your majesty, I was looking for you."

Of course, while octavius approached the queen in the courtyard, Maria simply sat on a bench; napping away as she minded her own business, dreaming slightly as she sat in ignorance of her stress. However, as octavius made his; sudden entrance, her eyes jumped up as she jolted awake. She felt as the air pushed away from the force push from octavius knocked against her legs. Nonetheless, she opened her eyes in a sudden movement and looked over to Octavius. Of course in a slight amount of confusion she lifted her right eyebrow and looked over at the kneeling Octavius

"Um, you may rise.. who might.. you be?" She said with a puzzling tone within her voice as she inspected her new guest; of course, her first thought was to single and call for her guards as this man might be some sort of psycho looking to kill her, or worse.. but she wasn't going to attempt to do something like that as of right now; she was hoping this was just some visitor to the palace and not.. a strange man looking to bring harm to her.

"What brings you to the palace at such a late time in the night, and why were you looking for me?" Something she said with a bit of suspicion as, it was strange that this encounter was taking so late at night.. however, she continued to not put to much thought into it.
