Strengths:
* Very resilient - Armor is very heavy, can absorb formidable amounts of kinetic, ionic, and energy weapons fire

Weaknesses:
* Weight - for every additional layer beyond one layer, maneuverability must be decreased by one
* Expensive - vessels with this armor can not be mass produced. No production beyond minor production.
* Repair - The armor is very effective against damage but must be maintained between each battle for maximum defensive effectiveness.

Description: EMNERA armor or Electro Magnetic Non-Explosive Reactive Ablation armor, is a type of starship armor produced by Imperil Forge Works for starships. The armor is a layered hybrid mix of ablative and reactive armor giving it superior damage defense against all types of weapons fire.

Design:
The top layer of the armor is made of an quadranium/neutronium Alloy. The alloy is a ninty- ten mix of Quadranium Steel to neutronium Metal giving it durability and energy dispersion properties. The Quadranium Steel's strong durability is mixed with the dispersive characteristics of the Neutronium metal to give the plate a degree of energy dispersion while presenting a very formidable defense against all forms of damage. An Ablative AR-0B damage reduction component is added to the plate to further enhance its durability and defense to damage. A layer of Silicar is then attached to the bottom of the plate to act as an inert kinetic absorption layer to minimize damage from projectile impacts. To this an additional layer of Radiation dampening foam is then applied to help prevent heat and other radiation from penetrating the hull of the vessel. A fourth layer of Agrinium is then applied which is connected plate to plate, giving the vessel a complete defensive cage from Ion and EMP based energy. The process is then reversed adding another layer of Radiation dampening foam then another layer of Silicar and finally a second and bottom layer of ablative Quadranium/Neutronium Alloy plating.

History:
The armor was first developed by the engineering team at IFW for the Harrower project. This modernized carrier was envisioned as a pocket flagship by the IFW and was equipped with the most rigid of defensive countermeasures. As the project stalled due to other unforeseeable design issues the armor was then tested on a new class of modernized dreadnaught heavy cruisers. This Invincible-class was the first class of IFW built warship to be equipped with the armor system where lessons were learning in testing which changed the armors design adding in a radiation shielding material prevent heat absorption of the inner hull and frame work.

Summery:
The Armor overall has a very high degree of both kinetic and energy defense which nears Matix armor in its levels of defense. It does this by relatively expanding the armor plating thickness. The plates are energized and constantly vibrating which provides some degree of reflection to incoming projectiles. The energy dispersed by projectiles which do hit have part of this energy absorbed by the plates inert dampening layers. These layers allow the plate to compress upon each other in a sandwich style system reducing the damage dealt to the inner plate. While this system is very effective it does leave the upper plate substantially more damaged than the lower plate and after each battle a higher degree of repair is needed to replace the upper layer of plating.
