Description: Ember Rekali's lightsabre design hearkens back to his past as a Jedi Master of the Republic, but its construction epitomizes the direct action often required of a Mandalorian. The handle is somewhat long, offering increased leverage and versatility while minimizing the cumbersome nature of true long-handled lightsabres. With size comes weight, and weight compounds when one applies to a master beskarsmith to make the entire weapon out of Mandalorian iron, but Ember Rekali is a specialist in physical enhancement; the weight doesn't slow him down. Instead, it emphasizes the impact of his expert Djem So. At great expense, paid for by a portion of Ember's share of the treasure trove where he found his focusing crystals, and with Master-level difficulty (using a portion of the long handle's extra space), the sabre's activation loop was constructed without dimetris circuits. As a result (as noted here), the sabre is immune to cortosis. Though the activation switch is near the blade emitter, another activation switch is found near the pommel, and both must be depressed simultaneously in order to activate or deactivate the sabre. This is a security measure. Other controls, including the power adjustment, can be found near the pommel. The power adjustment knob can place the sabre in training mode, causing mild burns rather than dismemberment.

Ember's blue Solari crystal was found in the cache of assorted gemstones which he and Isley Verd secured from a pirate stronghold. Recognizing the crystal for what it was, Ember embraced it as a chance to incentivise himself to stay strong in the Light Side of the Force. A lightsabre containing a Solari crystal will cease to function if its wielder embraces the Dark Side. The Solari crystal produces a slightly thicker-than-average blade, good for blaster deflection. It has no other benefit.
