+ Force Sight: While Ema, as a Miraluka, cannot see the world in the way others can, she is able to see through the Force; this, if used properly, can actually be a great advantage. As of yet, however, she can only use it in a more basic form.
+ Bright Light: Naturally just a good person, Ema shines with the purity of the Force. Even at such a young age she is a staunch follower of Ashla, although she is as of yet untrained in all save Force Sight.
+/- Child: Small and nimble, yet unable to defend herself, Ema is - just like every other child - vulnerable and naive. But being young isn't necessarily a bad thing, as it allows her imagination to grow in ways that an adults cannot.
- Vulnerable: While she can see through the Force, she cannot readily differentiate between individuals given her lack of experience in the subject. This can often lead her to feel anxious when around more than one person, and at times she can become panicked when in a crowd.
- Ward of the State: An orphan since birth, Ema grew up within whatever small system of wardship Bakura had to offer. Raised in a group home, she is the property of the state and will be so until she is of age. This means that her current situation is entirely out of her hands.

It is said that you cannot miss what you never knew you had. Em'ari became a Ward of Bakura just weeks after her birth when her mother passed away and her father could not be located. While many children despised the system, within it Ema seemed to flourish and grow as an individual. The lack of family time allowed her to retreat into her own imagination, and the lack of distraction from the outside world insofar as sight was concerned only aided her mental growth.
Smart, yet solitary, Ema aced the tests she was made to take and given her Miralukan heritage she was noted as a Force Sensitive straight away. While this did not give her any privileges in the shared home she resided within, it did gain her the slight notice of some of the planetary officials. Yet they kept their distance so as not to stunt her initial development, after all it was deemed important that she learned the basic fundamentals of education before delving into extra curricular activities.
Nothing of importance really happened to her; she wasn't the popular child, but even with her lack of sight she wasn't the child that was picked on or teased either. The first eight years of her life were, in fact, dreadfully ordinary. But things rarely stay that way for long.
