Whilst the Preservation-Class Star Defender acts as the mainstay vessel of the majority of the Republic's Sector Armies, the Emancipation-Class Heavy Cruiser exists as an excellent compliment to the Star Defender. Its primary objective is the transportation of troops and equipment to a combat zone and adequately defending them long enough for them to get onto the field of battle. As such, the Emancipation-Class Heavy Cruiser is aptly equipped with numerous armaments and transport vessels to accomplish this primary objective. At present, mass production of these particular vessels has been slow, yet more and more are steadily entering into Republic service.
