SPECIAL FEATURES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Strengths:
  • Fast without sacrificing weapons systems.
  • Aerodynamic design leads to excellent maneuverability, even despite high speeds.
  • Back laser cannon has devastating firepower on other starfighters.
Weaknesses:
  • Low hit tolerance. A well-placed shot to the cockpit will usually kill or severely maim the pilot.
  • Single seater, with no room for a gunner, astromech or support crew.
  • Hyperdrive can take up to 19 seconds to charge from stand-still or cruising speed.
Description:
The Elysium Legend is the first starship to be created by Elysium Industries in Chasin City, Commenor. It was created by CEO John Rakugan and his long-friend engineer friend, Thavron Howard, as a response to military starship manufacturers whom, in the words of Rakugan, "-just wanted to add lots of guns to their starships" without thinking much about the design.
John wanted to create a starfighter designed specifically for civilian, police and security populations: a growing market in the Inner Rim, to be certain. Seeing competition on the horizon from the newly-resurrected Czerka Corporation, as well as the growing influence of the Imperial Remnants in Rakugan's neck of the woods, John took action and worked with Thavron to design the Elysium Legend.
John took inspiration from the N-1 Starfighter when creating the Legend. He was inspired by the sleek design and the effectiveness of the N-1. John is also a massive fan of "Clone Wars" technology (especially their starship designs), which he no doubt worked into his final prototype.
The look of the Elysium Legend was meant to appear sophisticated, yet hardened; very fitting for a police or security force. The sleek, thin design allows the Legend to dodge targets quickly, but the Legend takes hits a lot harder than other types of fighters. In many cases, a direct hit on the cockpit will kill or severely maim the pilot. Make no mistake, however, that the Legend has fantastic dodging power.
One of the major disadvantages of the Elysium Legend is its hyperdrive, which is acceleration-oriented. This means that if the user is traveling at a high rate of speed prior to hyperdrive, the drive's particle accelerator will already be "warmed up" (so to speak) and so jumping to light speed is much easier (5 seconds or less). However, the accelerator's housing unit is weak to the cold temperatures of space, meaning that the accelerator has to warm up when the Legend is standing still or at cruising velocity. In fact, the hyperdrive can take up to 19 seconds! It goes without saying that this can cause issues during a dogfight, especially considering that the Legend is a single-seater.
In combat, the Elysium Legend has three possible options for taking down assailants. The back-firing cannon is the most devastating armament, with a charging time of 3 seconds. The precision lasers can be fired for 23 seconds continuously before needing to be cooled down. The pilot also has a standard proton torpedo launcher mounted to the front, as is standard with most starfighters.
Overall, the Elysium Legend is an amazingly fast and well-equipped craft for the price it's marketing at. The Legend performs at least as well as the Naboo N-1 Starfighter it was inspired by...if not better.
The Legend is manufactured jointly by both the Narrikian Engineering Company of Setus Prime, and Elysium Industries of Commenor. Together, they own the sole proprietary rights.
