STRENGTHS
Pyrotechnic: As a Shaper of Kro Var, Ekka's powers with the Force are largely elemental. Due to her particular tribal affiliation, she is a fire shaper, using her connection to manifest flames and combustion.
Fighter: Coming from a particularly martial tribe, Ekka was taught to fight from a very young age. She could easily be on par with a Mandalorian of similar age and skill.
WEAKNESSES
Suspicious: In her planetary culture, those who use the Force with invisible effects are deemed warlocks and heretics. Thus, she is uncomfortable around Jedi and Sith who use powers like telekinesis or mund tricks.
Hothead: Perhaps due to her tribe's association with elemental fire, Ekka sometimes allows her passionate emotions to get the better of her. With her connection to the Force, she sometimes dangerously wavers towards the Dark Side.
HISTORY
Ekka Batari was born while ash drifted down from the sky, right in the heart of Ungoth Valley on Kro Var—a place where fire isn’t just something you use, it’s a way of life. She grew up around warrior-Shapers, people who believed that fire cuts to the truth and only the strong survive its heat. Her childhood was one long test—fighting in basalt pits, running along rivers of lava, learning to shape the elements while throwing punches. By the time she hit her teens, Ekka could slice the air with fire or turn sand to glass right in the middle of a fight. People started to notice. She was fierce, stubborn, and clearly one of the best Fire Shapers around. But even as she mastered all that, she wondered why Ungoth’s secret flame stayed locked away from the rest of the galaxy.
After she finished the Trial of Embers—a rite that sends young Shapers out into the universe to prove themselves—she set off. Her first real job was nothing like what she expected: she joined a traveling entertainment convoy. The other performers caught on quick—Ekka could do things with fire that looked impossible. On stage, she became “The Ember Queen,” spinning fire into shapes and creatures that left crowds speechless. For once, people cheered for her without fear or any of the old clan pressure. She started to see fire differently, not just as a weapon, but as something that could amaze people.
That all changed fast when raiders hit the convoy. Ekka didn’t hesitate—she fought back like a true Ungoth, turning heat and stone into weapons and ending the attack in minutes. Word got out. Suddenly, everyone wanted to hire her for protection. Ekka saw it plain as day: out here, power mattered more than art. She left the stage behind and started working as a mercenary, but only on her own terms.
Now, Ekka moves from planet to planet as a freelance Fire Shaper. She still carries the discipline she learned back home, but she keeps those memories of applause close, too. No matter how many battles she fights, she refuses to let her flame go cold.
