APPEARANCE:
Einar is exceptionally tall and well-built - generally a fine exemplar of Valkyri race. He cares very little about his appearance, so long dark blond mane frames his bearded face. His eyes are olive-green, deeply set under the arch of his furrowed brow. He is usually clad in animal skins and parts of armor he managed to trade for the game he's killed.
BIOGRAPHY:
Einar Shadowmane is the first born son of Hrothr Shadowmane , chieftain of clan Shadowmane and his wife Hilde. The name of clan is derived from distinctive color of hair, which is about two tones darker than standard Valkyri blonde. Some twenty years ago, Hrothr Shadowmane headed an uprising against High King Beorlund the Bold, mainly due to his opposition to use of much needed technology for farming and medicinal purposes. Hrothr's endeavour was supported by several other clans; the rebellion would've succeeded if Hrothr was not betrayed by his own bannermen whom Beorlund bought with gold.
To set an example out of Hrothr, the King ordered for entire clan Shadowmane to be wiped out, including women and children. Hrothr was executed in front of King's castle, while soldiers were dispatched to deal with Hrothr's two children, Einar and [member="Dair Cotarin"]. Einar was gathering firewood in the forest when troops arrived and watched them burn down the house, together with his baby brother and mother in it. With nowhere else to go, he went deeper into the frozen forests of Midvinter. There he lived off the scarce land, hunting and fishing. He only returned to Thainbroek when he was old enough not to be recognized. He regularly sells what he kills at the local market place and then spends what he has earned on mead.
