Each Climb Begins with a Strong Foothold [Persephone]

~The Deep Core~
~Coruscant~

It was like taking a step back in time, peering through the viewport at Coruscants surface. Black hewn with orange clouds and festooned with the unnatural lines that marked the cityscape. She pulled back on the throttle of the Golden Rose and drifted slowly towards it, her heart in her throat. When was the last time she was here? She closed her eyes and tried to recall the last memory of Coruscant. It had been before the Battle of Roche, before her world had been flipped on its head. She's had faith then, faith in the Order, in the Republic, it these great monuments to civilisation. Her eyes snapped open. Times had changed, and she had found her faith, but not in the form of diplomacy driven by greed, nor a code that was ignored by most of its followers. She found faith in the force, in herself and her dearest friends.

Hands took the control yoke once more and the Golden Rose picked up her pace, streaming steadily towards the surface, following old entrance vectors. Not three weeks ago, Mia Monroe, formerly Mandalore the Liberator had dropped a fleet out of hyperspace right above Coruscant and begun making demands. The galaxy was on the brink of war again, and once again it was far too close to home. Republic space sat on Arda's doorstep, beyond them the Mandalorian's were crying out for a battle. Rosa was powerless to stop it, she'd long since accepted that the great powers would not be swayed away from what they believed to be right, but nor could she sit there and do nothing. She'd done that before, turned a blind eye to it all, protected what was important to her and helped build the Levantines. She had faith her little pocket of freespace would remain just that.

Not every soul was so lucky to have faith in the security of their home. Civilians could only look on in horror as the rich waged war against one another in a war for the 'greater good'. So many vial acts had been comitted in the last one, and each one had passed unchecked and unpunished. The Jedi's name was practically dirt to any who knew the truth and weren't blinded by the likes of Linna Beorht. People couldn't put faith in their factions, so perhaps it was time to give them something they could put faith in.

Justice.

Rendering to everyone that which is their due, regardless of their position within a senate, confederacy, empire or order.

Rosa was but one woman, but she was one woman with a fierce determination and an uncanny ability to get people to see things her way. She needed support, and though she loathed to come to the very centre of one of the reasons she was on this path, there was a woman here that could help her. While she wanted to be able to do this alone, it was impossible. She was a nobody, a shadow on the wall behind those who had been great, who were great. She needed someone with reputation, and that was where the Republic Senate Judicary Committee and [member="Persephone Callas"] came into play.

Planetary Traffic Controllers chatted incessantly at her as she brought the ship into atmosphere, and followed the trajectory they gave her to the docks. Great towers reached into the sky, glinting in the artificial sunlight as she passed them by. Coruscant had been her home for almost half her life, she both loved it and detested it. She watched the scrapers pass by her ship before the docks came into view and she shut all of it out. Memoires, emotions anything that could distract her she turned off. Securing the Golden Rose, she caught a speeder from the docks to the Republica 500 where she had agreed to meet Persephone, her mind drifted on the journey to Seroth, wondering what monsters her love was slaying while she steeled herself the task of uniting the galaxy in the only way she knew how.
