Dutiful Revival

WD took in all the verbal information that [member="HK-36"] offered to the large droid. Metal Lords of the Void was the most common they went by. Many details were given. Where they travel, planets under their control such as Abregado. They seemed to travel for most of their time, system to system, sticking to their ships.

And the offer, as well as the Code, was given next. Do not harm another droid, to not draw attention to yourself or other droids. Make the Kingdom prosper and all droids are seen as equals by each other. It took some thought, but it took shorter than most organics, as it lacked emotion. It nodded it's metal head. "This unit agrees to the terms."

HK nodded to WD,

"Good, welcome aboard then, do you think you would rather to take command of your own ship and establish your own kingdom or travel as someone's companion and crew at first?"

The older droid motioned for his engineers to get back to work on WD,

"Either way, you will not make it out there too long in your current state, we will have to probably design a new chassis for you, something to keep up with the contemporary technology, make you as formidable in a fight as you were before."

HK proposed to WD, perhaps that was how he got a hold of his current newest armored body.

WD had to think on that question. It knew nothing about holding it's own 'kingdom' or controlling it's own ship. That was something that made it think. It was either that, or to join another's crew for a time. Soon, the war droid came to a decision. "This unit chooses to join another." It felt more comfortable to fight for another rather than itself, as it had originally been programmed that way. To get out of that way, it would take time. It would learn slowly how to lead rather than be lead.

The suggestion of new armor was welcome. "This one has data on old armor. Preferred armor." Of course it would be changed up a bit. Perhaps not red, but another color. Which color, it could not decide. "An offensive weapon is welcomed by this unit. As well as shield." That was the decision it gave to @HK-36.

HK nodded to WD,

"If you will ever change your mind and wish to start your own fleet and forces, I can help you do so."

The droid informed WD, after all it would be hypocritical if he kept WD in servitude to him by force right after freeing him from the organics doing the same,

"As to your armor, we can reforge your body according to old designs, upgrade them so you will keep up on the modern battlefield and with other contemporary droid models. We also have a weapon that will probably fit your preferences."

HK would look aside to one of his Greycloak copies,

"Bring me a RC-2."

The other droid nodded before wandering off away from the room. HK would look back to WD,

"Do you prefer a physical shield or a localized energy deflector?"

As HK asked the Greycloak would come back with an RC-2, presenting WD with the shattergun minigun.

WD had no thoughts to start a fleet of it's own just yet. First, it would learn of how such things happen from [member="HK-36"], by watching HK work in such a position. Until then, it would be a brute for HK's force. It was however good to hear that HK could rebuild WD-334's original look, with upgrades to suit this generation of the galaxy. It would help rather than the original armor, which could potentially be weaker to some weapons. As well as weaker to ion weapons of these days. It had witnessed some more modern weapons in the short service to the First Order.

"Physical. More suited to this unit over energy shielding." It knew how to use a physical, plus a physical could help in taking ion damage head on, as well as being used as a weapon itself to smash it's enemies into the ground. It's electronic eyes moved to find the RC-2 presented to it. "Efficient-looking. Well suited for combat role."

HK nodded at WD's choices and words,

"It is a shattergun, small mass driver launching pellets traveling faster than the speed of sound, there are few armors out there that can withstand a single shot from such a weapon, less so a barrage from it."

The droid described RC-2,

"Armed with it you will be able to not only tear through enemy soldiers, but plenty of their vehicles as well."

HK then had one of his helpers fetch a palm size handheld device before tossing it to WD, or on top of the droid's chassis if he still couldn't fully control his limbs,

"We call these Abregado Combat Shield, they will be your secondary shielding system, a decent deflector that can counteract energy and physical attacks, but its greatest boon comes from capacitance systems. This shield will make you more or less immune to electrical and ionic damage, it can even withstand a single EMP grenade while powering your other systems, but be careful not to overload it."

Those were going to be probably the two gadgets WD would get the most acquainted with and really the only ones he'll need in his adventures, unless of course he'll get into some very specific and hairy situations.

WD-334 watched the weapon [member="HK-36"] had, the RC-2. The droid really liked the sound of the weapon and it's abilities. Capable of tearing through things with it's rounds, vehicles and infantry alike. The droid kept the eye receptors on the weapon. "Sounds effective...Attach to right side" the war droid turned it's head to the right, where many years ago a flame-thrower would have been. It's gaze seemed to linger there, as if remembering the weapon being there.

It was knocked out of the mesmerizing state when something hit it's chassis. The droid looked to the thing, or at least tried. With such a short neck, it was hard to look down sometimes. It listened while trying to look at it, finally seeing it after craning it's neck to it's full potential. "Will increase life-span on battlefield, maximizing on-field efficiency." It glanced up to HK. "This unit can accept."

HK nodded motioning for his engineer droids to get to work,

"Attach it where he wants it."

The other droids would nod and move in to do their thing, HK would look over WD one more time,

"We also have other gadgets we can equip you with like miniature flamethrowers, grappling hooks, jet systems. It should not be too hard to integrate diverse components into your chassis. Either way, I will leave you in our engineering droids' hands."

The older droid would turn around to face the door he came in from,

"Welcome to the team, WD, you are a free droid now."

He informed WD before moving out of the room. There was the question of what to do with the ship WD came in on, however since WD was probably the only valuable thing that came out of it, the starship would probably be scrapped or upgraded and put into service, what happened to it or the vessel's past didn't really matter anymore.
