SPECIAL FEATURES

STRENGTHS

  • Gift of Presience: Those who consume Dust and are not force sensitive are given a momentary surge of power, similar to precognition. They become hyper aware of their surroundings and are able to predict things happening a few seconds before they actually do. Furthermore their reflexes are enhanced giving them the ability to take full advantage of their momentary presience. This effect typically only lasts for six or seven minutes per half a gram of Dust consumed.
  • Expanded Force-Senses: Those who consume Dust and are force sensitive find their precognitive abilities enhanced. They are capable of seeing farther and are able to extrapolate more causes and effects than normal. Their senses are not easily tricked and they can see through most lies with ease.
WEAKNESSES
  • Addictive: The power that Dust offers is addictive, to know what one's enemies will do before they do it is something very few get to do. This simple fact combined with the addictive chemical properties of Dust make it a difficult habit to kick but an easy one to form.
  • Obvious Use: Those who routinely use Dust find that the sclera of their eyes will turn bright vibrant colors. This marker makes those using dust regularly stand out from a crowd.
  • Hallucinagenic: Prolongued use of Dust in a single session can see the mind begin to run wild. It begins to make connections and observations unwanted by the user, blocking useful information with progressively more wild information that can begin to overwhelm a person's mind. Those who do not stop during this stage, known as a Dust Overdose, can have parts of their memory eaten away to be replaced by memories of a potential future which could possibly happening, slowly erasing the person's mind and making living in the present unbearable.
  • Overuse: Consuming too much Dust without moderation can easily overwhelm a person's mind. Should they stop in the early stages of a Dust Overdose to prevent permenant damage they will be wracked with intense headaches that make even simple tasks difficult to accomplish.
DESCRIPTION
Dust is an orange-brown powder with the consistency of sand. It has a strong cinnamon smell and has an evershifting taste which seems to cater to the individual, being sweet, salty, spicey, or sour depending on the consumer's subconscious preference.

It is the natural byproduct of the lifecycle of the Thahbalahn. The colossal adult serpents, so attuned to the force, leave some of that attunement behind when they shed their skin every couple of years. This skin is ground to dust by the winds and harsh conditions of the serpents' homeworld of Ahk-Ourobha, and most of it diffuses into the great desert or the winds of the planet. Those industrious enough can find these colossal shedded skins and harvest the dust before it is dissipated, or build wind-traps that can collect the dust from the desert winds in small quantities.

The Dust harvesting industry on Ahk-Ourobha is one of the planet's primary source of income, but due to the substance being considered sacred by the local Bedlariim only small quantities of it is allowed off world. Companies compete to secure dust harvesting and shipping contracts handed out by the planetary government of Ahk-Ourobha, often promising higher payments and lower amounts harvested to seem more desirable to do business with. Outside of these lucrative contracts smugglers are a frequent enemy of the state on Ahk-Ourobha as those willing to skirt the stringent laws on Dust export try to ship it out illegally.
