SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Horus FCP Hud Package, very comprehensive top quality multi-spectrum hud and targeting system, coms package and ECCM, Electronic Counter-Countermeasure.
  • A variety of armor designs exist to give the armor some street cred. Gang signs, field camouflage, urban camo, graffiti artists logos, cult band names, most wanted criminals, you name it.
  • The armor comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. Using armorweave and durasteel, this design is intended to be a one size fits all from smaller sentients to larger creatures. The helmet can be taken off, with arms and limbs removed or added as required.
  • Aside from the Hud, it is very reliable, easy to maintain and lasts a long time. The cheap materials balance it out to be a reasonable purchase price, one that you can pass down to your son or daughter almost in the same condition you got it in. The PLA-CORR Coating and Finish being 50% Anti-Corr and 50% Plasteel, offers a scratch-resistant armor that also protects against wear and tear from the natural elements.
  • Wartime, in practical terms it being one size fits all means soldiers can die or be put out of action, the armor can then be reused and then worn again, or parts swapped with other parts. Of course, if your opponent loots your dead then they can do the same.
  • Basic Rebreather and oxygen supply for 24 hours.
STRENGTHS
  • Horus FCP Hud Package, comprehensive top quality multi-spectrum hud and targeting system, coms package and ECCM. Predictive terrain analysis, kill zone highlighting, suggested angles of fire, and encrypted holonet upload among other features.
  • Basic Rebreather and Oxygen Supply for 24 Hours.
  • Flexibility in wartime. The armor's parts can easily be swapped between those of the same design.
WEAKNESSES
  • The Hud in the armor is vulnerable to ion and emp fire, but the helmet can be removed or not worn.
  • Average to everything. No strengths. Probably take a hit or two, it might not.
  • The Hud is not easy to repair, so despite this design's strengths, it will be the one aspect that breaks over time. In that case, the user can discard the helmet for less functionality, or swap it for a replacement.
  • Lacks a lot of the more advanced features, like magnetic boots, wrist devices, shields etc.
DESCRIPTION

Durastreet Armor is as it sounds. Armor for the everyday mercenary or bounty hunter either just starting out or who can't afford to spend a fortune. It's something to give to your troops, militias, or gang members when the budget is an issue. FFE decided to add some style to it, they know the underworld and the counter culture. Adding most wanted names or signatures to the armor, gang signs, or urban camo variations. Getting infamous criminals or bounty hunters to sign designs was the main stroke of genius to build media exposure, the rise of the Triads allowing for ample opportunity to select individuals looking to further their reputation in the underworld wars.

Even though it's cost-effective the armor is reliable and easy to wear. The PLA-CORR Coating and Finish is 50% Anti-Corr, 50% Plasteel. Meaning just because you are not spending a fortune, you've still got an armor that will not scratch and not corrode in use. You are not wearing a tank but you are not wearing a piece of junk either. As such the Durasteet armor is currently popular among the youth, small-time gangs and new mercenaries especially those who want some respect when they go for a job, without having to spend a fortune.

Sere Reene's special tech from the Exchange stopped on by, Aalto Jien. Aalto in payment for taking thirty units on backorder, assisted with trials of the armor on a number of keen and willing exchange employees, most of which made it back alive. Using this test data the armor was improved, so that lives may be saved in the future. At least one drunk employee at the local bar told us so, he might have been exaggerating or just in a spice induced haze, so might we for that matter. This entire conversation and most of yesterday could have been a dream for all we know.

One good thing about having experience designing accessories means the HUD this unit is fitted with is invaluable. It has all the perks you'd want from a modern-day HUD, with as little or as much data on-screen as you require. Combat terrain analysis, route mapping through structures, squad feedback, vitals, kill zones its all there and more. Just because you are not paying a fortune doesn't mean you are not getting your money's worth. This was one design Sere would have been proud of if her race felt anything other than ambivalence every waking moment of every day.
