| DESCRIPTION |
| The foundation of the Mandalorian Sect, known as the Iron Wolves, has presented a new take on the otherwise ancient traditions of Force Users across the Galaxy by placing an emphasis on and infusing the teachings of the Force with the Mandalorian culture and ethos. Approaching this founding with the same endeavor that originally saw the creation of the DSS-19 Ka'ra-type, the original design team revisited their previous design and began to restructure the internal aspects whilst keeping the external structure intact to provide a vessel that, while externally the same, was still different in the specific tasks it is intended to complete. The main visual difference of these crafts can be seen from the exterior, such as that the DSS-22 Ba'jur-type is slightly larger than its predecessor, accounting for the additional space within the interior layout. While redesigning these craft, the engineers of Aether Systems further leaned into their experience and expertise in creating niche-built vessels to both address the needs and complement the newly established Mandalorian Iron Wolves. This was achieved with the inclusion of Meditation Chambers, or "Qabbrat", as each vessel carries up to four such chambers. These chambers are often utilized by Force-Sensitive individuals to mediate and further deepen their connection to and enhance their strength with the Force. Another need of the Iron Wolves that was easily remedied by maintaining previous design aspects was in their numbers, as they often operate in a pack of up to four individuals. Much like its predecessor, the DSS-22 Ba'jur-type also features an integrated Fondor Droid Mod that oversees and maintains many of the secondary and tertiary systems of these craft - though still ensures that vital systems such as Life Support and Navigation were left to the organic crew. However, while this does mean that these craft can be crewed and maintained by a smaller contingent, it also comes at a cost of greater susceptibility to Ion-based weaponry and EMP-based strikes. These vessels also feature additional features, such as housing multiple Bacta Tanks and Stasis Pods, to allow members of the pack to recover from injuries or be placed in stasis if more immediate attention is required. Much of the interior of these craft has also been expanded to include private rooms for each member, a Training Dojo equipped with sparring droids and training remotes, as well as an expansive Workshop to maintain and modify weapons and armor. Just as was seen in its predecessor design, the inclusion of these features has resulted in the removal of other features and aspects of these vessels. As such, the DSS-22 is incapable of housing or deploying even a singular Starfighter Squadron, though it is capable of deploying a single limited-capacity support vessel, survey ship, or lifeboat. Furthermore, this focus and emphasis on providing a mobile training facility has also seen to a lessening of its armaments, and these craft only maintain an arsenal that is deemed necessary for self-defense and nothing more. However, despite these drawbacks and the overall oddity of its aesthetics, the DSS-22 Ba'jur-type provides the Mandalorian Empire with a vessel intended to fill a niche that has likely been overlooked by other manufacturers. While massive warships and nimble strike craft are vital to securing the future of the Mandalorian Empire, the need to provide proper training and facilities for the newly christened Iron Wolves to strengthen these wolf packs is just as vital. |
