Description: Industrial Automaton's DRP-series of maintenance droids were a somewhat successful product line; small, compact, able to do advanced starship repair in very tight spaces due to their low height. It had a unique gripping claw designed much like a shutter that allowed it to use tools and the like in case it couldn't just turn things. It was also capable of making high jumps with repulsor boosters in order to clear most obstacles or reach places its tiny little 'three apples tall'-- as one customer put it-- height couldn't reach. That height was a turn-off for must customers, sadly, and the DRP series stopped being maintained after a while. Updates were no longer issued to hardware or software after the line's production ceased. Industrial Automaton cleared out the last of the droids at cheap prices and they became extremely rare.

In one case, it just went plain wrong. The programming went a little haywire. The droid's brain went a little bit... wrong. Purchased from Industrial Automaton by Qae Shena during the clearance, this particular little droid is a friendly little sort. Meet DRP-10. He's just as much a companion as he is Qae's resident mechanic; they tend to go on most adventures in space together and whatnot. A little bit accident-prone, keen to trying new things like cooking breakfast and attempting to open jars, as well as being one hundred percent cuddly and adorable, Derp would do anything he possibly could for Qae's sake... except get taller. Just the way his Nautolan owner likes it. Derp serves as the chief mechanic for Qae's fighters, the Sky Dancer II and the Aether Dreamer - he's got the skills to match any top-tier sentient mechanic.
