OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Knowing most would like a way to handle an assassination in a way unassuming to untrained eyes, or professionals lacking any obvious suspect, Keen-Eye's criminal sect began creating a device for detonation of installed droids, hopefully fatally, in what would seem to be a catastrophic malfunction. The explosive device embedded into the droid's core is delicately hidden, and rigged to a single code the droid would send when detonation time was upon the droid. The reason for this signal being sent was designed for one of two purposes.
Defender mode is best fitted for droids one would expect to protect someone, and causes the guard to be rather ironically named. The second setting, dubbed 'Alone', has the droid calculate the opportune moment, approach the target as casually as possible, before detonation. Both settings are meant for different purposes, and must be installed separately, and never at the same time.
Despite the usefulness of this upgrade, two major flaws exist. First of all, the droid's standard functions are inferior to standard models, as the design necessitates some limitations and removal of certain codes to make way for the detonation triggers. Physical force in ample excess can also cause the device's trigger pathway to become mis-aligned, causing the code to be unable to initiate detonation.
- Intent: To create an explosive alteration for applicable KEE droid models, for creating misfortune.

- Modularity: Yes? Option between "Alone" and "Guard" settings upon purchase.
- Production: Minor
- Material: Explosives, electronic parts
- Explosive: Can turn applicable droids into highly potent explosive devices.
- Special Signal-Casing: Uses a custom designed casing to prevent premature explosion.
- Explosive: This device turns droids installed with it into high-potency explosives, capable of seriously injuring or killing individuals.
- Malfunction?: The device is designed, as well, to appear as a catastrophic malfunction. It would take extensive studying of the parts to determine its actual cause.
- Multiple settings: The A-01 can be set with two different settings, depending on the droid: Alone or Defender. The 'Alone' setting will cause the droid to move close to the target before detonation when alone, while the defender will cause the droid to attempt to defend the target before explosion. This setting is decided when installing the part into the appropriate droid.
- One shot: The droid will be fully destroyed in the process.
- Hampers function: Droids installed with this explosive device are inferior to their standard job detailing. While they can preform adequately, they do not stand up to others of their same line, and leave evidence in this regard to the device being installed.
- System failure: An error can occur between the detonation signal and the explosive detonation, should the droid have been the recipient of significant physical impact. The explosive detonation device requires the input signal to detonate, and should sufficient impact be received before the signal is sent the device will no longer be aligned and no longer properly work.
