Character
Location: Near Nar Kaaga
It was deathly quiet on the tiny freighter as it drifted in space. There was a certain chill in the air as well that made Zane shiver despite the blanket that was wrapped on him. He sat at the cockpit of the EE-775 as he stared out into the vast space. Slowly blinking as he found himself drifting to sleep. It wouldn't have been so bad under normal circumstances, but in this case Zane has a problem.
The hull of EE-775 appeared to be damaged like it experienced a dog fight with someone. Port side of the engine was malfunctioning as it refused to switch on. Starboard remained operational, however jumping to lightspeed was a major risk given the external damage had also affected the hyperdrive system. Zane knew how to fix it, but the issue was that he didn't have any parts on hand to even rig the system. It was an escape plan that had gone wrong, and he only escaped thanks to the small jump.
Zane had been missing for so long that he honestly couldn't remember what the number of days were. After the experiments that were done to him and the training regiment. The young man stopped counting at some point as there was no sun nor indication of time. He still wasn't sure what was done to him other than it was some kind of stimulant. The kind that enhanced his senses, but it always made him feel sick. Now it seems like that enhanced sensory effect was going on all the time, and with it came different issues. Such as sensory overload whether it's by touch, taste, or smell. He could no longer eat certain food because it overwhelms his taste buds.
The young man sighed before he reluctantly got up from the cockpit. Zane kept to his routine of stretching and light exercises to keep his body active. He walks over to the kitchen as the lighting was dim given that Zane lowered a lot of systems output to conserve energy. Opening the pantry where lots of preserved food was neatly organized and labeled as to what the meal was and how much he should eat. Counting down to the meals could last him for another twenty days worth of hours, and maybe forty if Zane really rationed out what he eats.
Once Zane got his meal of preserved meat and fruit. He walks over to the communications terminal as the only thing that Zane did not take power away was his communication system. He messed with the frequency on occasion to see if he could hop onto someone’s communication line and see if he could get help. However, it has already been about seventy hours now since he heard anything. According to the navigation system however, Zane was roughly at the edge of Hutt Space. So the young man reckoned that he could run into someone given that the routes were regularly traveled.
Zane had half of a mind to just take the engines and try his luck on getting to Nar Kaaga given that it was the closest planet to him now. However with no lightspeed it probably would take about an hour or so. An hour of consuming fuel and power to the ship. Probably more than that given that only one out of two engines properly work. However his luck might turn up soon, and so Zane pays close attention to the communications relay for a little bit longer. Who knows. Maybe someone might happen to drop on him? But the chances of that happening was one in a million.
