STRENGTHS

Durable:
The blade is effectively made out of a 'hard light', making it difficult to break and even if it did it can regenerate very quickly.

Cutting Power: A Dread Blade has the ability to cut through many weaker metals with ease, but its not a saber, and has trouble with things like durasteel, requiring more 'hacking' at the object than cutting through it like a saber. The blade is also not nearly as hot as a saber, more warm than anything else.

WEAKNESSES

Not Quite a Saber: Although it can resist a saber, it is not nearly as powerful as one. Far heavier, bulkier, and not nearly enough cutting power.

DESCRIPTION

A Dread Blade using a Kyber Crystal, well, half a Kyber Crystal. Only half of the crystal is used to allow for a more 'mass produced' availability to arm as many elite soldiers as possible, especially jedi hunters. This however has weakened the blade, making it no where as effective as a real light saber. The blade is shaped via a series of projectors and the alchemy used to shape it, making no two Dread Blades entirely alike. The alchemy used on the blade also has a very obvious physical effect, with the runes having been inscribed on the hilt constantly scrolling up the blade, reinforcing it and keeping its shape.
