Maldor Sancetti
The Diarchy - House Sancetti
Hyperspace Lanes were worth more than gold in today's market, given the recent tumult among the star systems of the galaxy. Hundreds of existing lanes had been made impassable or unsafe. The major powers were scrounging for new ones.
It was nearly enough on its own to make the whole deal worthwhile, all other considerations aside.
Tertius naturally had little concern for money being clean before it was spent. In past times, Maldor wouldn't have worried over such things, either. But he was High Chancellor of the Diarchy, now, and everything he did had political impact.
But Hyperspace Lanes...
That could be a boon to the Diarchy, well beyond the scope of today's affair.
Maldor's gaze followed Glitch as he left, and he waited until he returned before speaking again.
"At some point in every endeavor, some trust has to be extended, or nothing can ever be gained. I am prepared to sign on, with Ra as the Chief Executive under the investors' direction.
My involvement will be through a Trigonus shell company for six months, until the endeavor proves out. Then the shell will dissolve and transfer its interest to the House Sancetti Conglomerate. This should sufficiently protect the Diarchy from any connection to this endeavor if things go awry.
I'm sure you understand the precaution.
Otherwise, I see that this arrangement has the potential for a profitable outcome. And I hope it will be so."
He sipped his drink, and glanced to Vyllia.
