Often wrapped about in a green cloak and durasteel armor, the Mad Doctor, with his imposing height and calm, yet intense voice and demeanor, is quite intimidating. BIOGRAPHY:
Tyrne Maximus Desdamonus was born in transit to his parents' next workstation. Both his mother and father were great scientists and researchers, traveling the galaxy in a quest to unlock and interpret the galaxy's secrets. However, they were not so great parents. Tyrne was left in the care of droids for most of the dependent stage of his childhood. The droids were caretakers second and assistants to scientists first, so much of Tyrne's childhood was viewed much more like an experiment than an actual childhood. Even his parents, instead of caring for and playing with the son they had not seen for days at a time, regarded Tyrne with fascination and began a study on their son, who had been receiving instruction from the caretaker droids in the fields of science and technology as soon he could comprehend and speak complete sentences. As such, even when his parents were not busy, they often left him in the care of the droids in support of their pet experiment. As a result, even to this day, The Doctor does not know the names of his parents.

As the boy grew older, his knowledge grew even greater, and the droids began to run out of material to teach. He was put to work in the labs at the age of 12, at first as an errand boy. Tyrne's knowledge of the material at hand, which mostly delved into genetics and the manipulation of DNA, baffled scientists. He was a prodigy, that was to be sure. At only the age of 14 he was made a full scientist and was tasked with assisting his parents in their projects and tasks. On his 16th birthday, Tyrne, by chance, found out something incredible: he was Force sensitive. An encounter with a Jedi, who was being studied, confirmed this. It explained Tyrne's prodigal skills in all things science. Although he was traditionally too old to enter the Order, the Jedi, whose name was Des, took him anyways. Within that week, Tyrne had packed up and left the current installation he was in and left for a new life without even saying goodbye to his parents.

It would be the last time he would see them.

Upon entering the Academy, Tyrne was initially brushed aside as being too old to train properly. However, Des persisted, citing the young man's extraordinary gifts in the science field and exclaiming that this kind of intelligence was only possible through the Force. With some work and grumbling, Tyrne was admitted and quickly earned the rank of Padawan. He spent most of his time in the library and laboratory, rarely speaking to others. When he did speak, it was with a monotone, proper voice, although with aliens, his tone had a hint of aloofness. Des managed to avoid inquiries to this curious part of his personality by bringing up the boy's background. He lived with an all human science team and droids for all of his life, after all.

Desdamonus' time flew in the Academy. By the age of 24, he was made into a Jedi Knight. In all this time period, he had only perhaps spoken a few words, only what was necessary. His peers regarded Tyrne as a brilliant but all together strange individual. He frequently traveled the galaxy, conducting experiments and aiding less fortunate systems with his geneticist skill set. Desdamonus stopped the oncoming famine of an entire world by producing a genetically altered crop that wouldn't die when other crops would, earning him great praise from the Jedi Order. He was also skilled in combat, winning several friendly tournaments among his peers and dispatched several times to help keep the peace around the galaxy. Tyrne was bound to make the rank of Jedi Master; it was only a matter of time.

However, all this good fortune was not to last.

One day, abruptly and suddenly, Tyrne vanished. An investigation, led by his Master, Des, discovered that he had been a frequent visitor in the restricted portions of the library. It was only now that they discovered his subtle entries into the area; if Tyrne had not disappeared and prompted an investigation, no one would have known. From there, Des deduced that Tyrne had been swayed by the readings and holocrons there, which were mostly Sith or dark side in nature. His deduction was indeed correct. Tyrne had felt that he learned everything he could from the Jedi; now, it was time to take in knowledge from a different approach.

Upon his arrival at a Sith Academy, two Sith apprentices, mistaking Tyrne for a Jedi, attacked. They were swiftly cut down, and this act of violence prompted the curiosity of the Academy's Headmaster. Tyrne was admitted and immediately went to the library, setting his knowledge to the darker arts of the Sith; namely, alchemy and experimentation. He excelled in his classes. Being a mostly emotionless human certainly served him well, as Tyrne destroyed anything and anyone that stood in his quest for knowledge. Many a fellow apprentice was found dismembered and strewn across their bedrooms, and some who challenged Desdamonus simply vanished.

The years went by. 10, 20 years passed, and Tyrne now found himself a Sith Master, as well as the right hand man of the rapidly aging Headmaster. The Academy, under Desdamonus' recommendation, was outfitted with two distinct features: a beast pen and a prisoner holding area. The beasts were experimented on, subjected to Tyrne's Sith alchemy and various other scientific procedures, creating horribly mutated creatures that had a habit of killing those assigned to care for them. The prisoners, however, were subjected to far more cruel procedures. Desdamonus, in a quest to amplify and, in essence, perfect the human race, inflicted great pain and suffering on those unfortunate enough to be in his laboratory. With mortality rates high, Tyrne began drawing on the students of the Academy. The weak and the failures went to Desdamonus' off-limits wing of the Academy and didn't come back. Soon, this practice became too much for even the Headmaster to bear, and he soon announced his plan to shut down the facility.

He was found the next day in the beast pen. Or at least what was left of him.

Violence broke out in the Academy. Those who were loyal to the Headmaster and rejected Desdamonus' methods and those who supported Tyrne and sought to perfect the human race clashed. Desdamonus himself, in a rare break of character, gave a passionate speech to his supporters on how his methods and experiments would make mankind into something the galaxy had never seen before. The two factions fought, and while Desdamonus was outnumbered, he had the advantage of some of the more controllable beasts and altered humans who were brainwashed into fighting for him. The fight was long, bitter, and intense, but in the end, Tyrne won. The defeated were cast into the prison camp and the victorious were set to work, taught by Desdamonus himself.

Years went by. The stock of humans began to run low. In his pride and callousness, Desdamonus determined that the additional laborers, while convenient, were only that: a convenience. Students at the Academy began disappearing again, something that had not been seen for years. Soon, only a few remained, slaves of Tyrne's will. Knowing that it was only a matter of time before they were next, the few survivors ran, figuring a death in the barren planet that the Academy stood upon was a far fairer fate than what awaited them in the laboratory.

It was now just Desdamonus. Of course, he didn't mind at all. Now there was no need to pretend to hold belief in the Sith. The Academy was his now, and Tyrne could work undisturbed without the annoyance of others to distract him.

Peace and quiet did not last for long. An old Jedi Master soon discovered the now abandoned Academy, sensing a disturbance in the Force. Desdamonus met him, and they clashed. The location of the Academy and it's intent had to stay within the dark walls. Midway through the battle, Tyrne was surprised to discover that the old man he was fighting was none other that Des, his former Master, who had spent years trying to discover the whereabouts of his lost apprentice. In the momentary shock, Des went on to say that he regretted ever bringing Desdamonus to the Jedi Order, and that he had created a monster, so it was now his duty to remove the evil that was now The Mad Doctor from the galaxy. Reaching out with the Force, Des flung a burner towards Tyrne and detonated it mere inches from his face, horribly burning his face. In a break of the normally cool, calm and collected personality of the Doctor, Tyrne lashed out in rage and struck down his former Master.

Now horribly burnt, Tyrne forged a mask to hide his face, as he could not stand to look himself in the mirror any longer. The Mad Doctor was now born, and he dove back into his work with a fervor...
