A mildly innocent appearance owing to her design. She has pale skin, short, black hair and is slim. She moves with a slightly robotic grace with sharp precise movements as she interacts with the world around her.

Respected history - Before her organic death, she was a well respected Imperial scientist which is likely one of the reasons she has been able to keep her role in her new form with little loss in prestige.
Intellect - She is among the great minds of her time and her fusion to an advanced HRD has not reduced this.

Anti-droid sentiment - Not everyone likes droids and even fewer trust them with authority. Her motives are more likely to be called into question and she has to deal with that scrutiny and bias.

BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Varrick was a notable scientist in an imperial remnant faction with specialism in xenomorphology, xenobiology, xenolinguistics, and xenobehaviour. She also had a keen interest in xenobotany, working alongside the renowned Dr. Trinity Harris. It was when she made the move into organic weapons development that a lot of her previous relationships soured, but what did they know. She went on to carve herself out a career on this darker path.
Althea never married, she flirted with the idea and entertained several partners but her heart was never in it and they all dissolved well before things became serious.
The HRD now calling itself Althea Varrick was devised as a research assistant droid that would be capable and survivable enough to assist the then living Dr. Varrick with her work. Unfortunately, due to a containment incident caused by one of her junior researchers, the scientist became infected with the larvae of a highly dangerous parasitic organism. While in medical quarantine she made the decision to use her new biomechanical prodigy for a different purpose. Her last living act was to transfer a digital analogue of her consciousness into the HRD. It was a strange sensation, the new and very different body, even stranger was the process of watching her own body, still containing the organic copy of her consciousness being digested from the inside by the parasites. Strange, but once in a career experience to study the process closely.
Once she finished studying and dissecting her corpse, the parasites, strange quadrupedal carapaced creatures about the size of a small dog, bonded well with her new form. She took the three of them as pets. She keeps the two females highly isolated away from any organics to prevent further infection and death, although her own death had given her insight into how to safely remove the eggs should the worst happen. The male is a sterile drone and appeared to possess the approximate intelligence of a primitive primate so he had taken the role of a companion.
She is continuing her work, now with the Tarkin Initiative, her new body is enabling much more interaction than she had ever enjoyed before and makes her more confident in fieldwork due to the fact that she no longer has to deal with being a soft target. She should have made the switch years ago.
