Detailed Special Features
The DR-3 Tactical Assistance Droid fills two niches in the DR-X line of battle droids. They function as both strategists to work in the war-rooms of the Blacklist’s clients, and as infiltration droids, adept at moving as quietly and inconspicuously as possible. The DR-3 appears to be a simple 3PO unit, even under careful scrutiny.
As a Tactical Droid, the DR-3 is a competent tactician. It makes decisions based on the sensory grid information sent to it by droids such as the DR-1, along with pre-programmed strategies and common sense. Because of this, it's strategies are often swift, well-informed, and well-educated. Another advantage it has over the average tactical droid is it's humble nature. It is programmed to act as an adviser to a biological tactician, and has been designed not to create strategies based on underestimation or overconfidence, but on what it knew definitively.
As an infiltration droid, the DR-3 is no slouch. Due to it's commonplace appearance, this droid can blend in easily in almost any situation as any translation droid would. To back up the facade, the DR-3 can function as a protocol droid, and is programmed to act subservient to any that might require something from it.
When required, the DR-3 can and will fight. Under one wrist is a hidden vibroknife, perfect for assassination missions. Under the other, a concealed dart launcher, used for the same reason.
Strengths:
+Made in Geonosis- While these droids are considered extremely expensive for Rosilla Relief & Supplies, they are actually decently cheap, considering what they can do. One of the perks of free labor.
+On the Grid- Using their Sensory Grid technology, can display, study, and create strategies from a real-time battle map, supplied by other droids.
+Basically HAL- The DR-3 is intelligent, having one of the better droid brains Dravis could acquire en masse. Their strategies tend to rely on swift action and overwhelming numbers, along with coordinating and implementing the various combat tricks the other DR-X series droids can perform.
+Droid Perks- Has all of the benefits of being a Droid, including an infinite morale, ability to keep on fighting through damage, and no need for food, drink, or air.
+Stealthy- This droid is perfect for stealth and subterfuge missions, using it's intelligence to slip by defenses and through suspicions.
Weaknesses:
-Cheap, But Not Really- These droids aren't cheap, even with droid labor. So while they may not be as expensive as they're actually worth, they still require an ample portion of the Blacklist's resources.
-Mad Haxx- The Sensory Grid could be hacked by a talented slicer, and reveal the location of the Tactical Droid. If the droid were to be using information from the grid on a mission, it would reveal it's location.
-Human-Cyborg Relations- These droids, while being decently agile, have virtually no armor, to maintain the ruse that it is a 3PO droid.
-Stupid Little Short-Circuit- The DR-3 has all the usual weaknesses of a droid, such as a vulnerability to ion and EMP weaponry, and the chance of short-circuiting when exposed to large amounts of water.
DESCRIPTION
Dravis Rosilla programmed the DR-3, not to be a commander or leader, but as an assistant to himself, or whoever may purchase them. These droids look and behave strikingly similar to a 3PO unit, so much so that one may forget their role as an assassin droid. They behave respectfully and matter-of-fact-ly, stating strategies with the highest probabilities of success, or that might cause the most damage.
If captured, these droids can be devastating to the enemy.
They are programmed to surrender, infiltrate command, download and send data, and assassinate high-ranking officials, all under the guise of a protocol droid. Quite the terrifying secret project.
Their intelligence, deceptive potential, and tactical prowess make the DR-3 an impressive addition to any command station of Dravis Rosilla, or any other clients of the Blacklist.
