Dominion of Hast

Well since the rebellion is over and the dance thread has stalled to try and keep some things going there is a world right on our doorstep away from people ripe for a tier 1 dominion.

Hast a world with a sentence to go with and very little information. Which means there is a lot of freedom to work with for the different groups. We can have a playground for 100 posts. Now this won't really net us huge gains territory wise but for closing out the voss hex and adding close system fortifications that can rapidly respond in case of attack it is invaluable.

Objectives:

Shipyard Procurement: Not much is known about the system, send out scouting units to learn about the locals and study the shipyards.

Shipyard Defense: THose more fleeting and military minded can have a chance to test out and work on dev for their new ships if they want it. Get a small team, work it out and use the resources of the land.

Diplomatic gains: Head down to the planet and see if there are locals or if the world is uninhabited. Make it up as you go.

Rangers assemble: The Ranger's are looking to work on things and develop some new methods for appealing to people. Get some operations in there to create buzz to maybe attract newcomers.

Do your own thing:

I just read up on the Hast Shipyards, and it gave me an idea about the history of the planet to set a more definitive backdrop for the dominion. Hast started out as a resource-rich world that was used as the secret site for repairing large capital ships and testing new systems. Overtime, the surface base used to house the personnel working at Hast expanded into a full blown colony by the time the New Republic transitioned into the Galactic Alliance. An independent planetary government would eventually be chartered by the descendants of the original colony.

Fast forward a few centuries to now, and it's become a bustling industrial center, seeking to rival nearby Mon Cala as building military and commercial vessels for various clients of outer regions. When Mon Cala joins in with the OSJ, the Hastan government sees itself at an economic and political disadvantage, so it reaches out to the Silver Jedi on neighboring Voss to reap the benefits of joining the Jedi Coalition too. Hast is also looking for assistance for its security forces, the region plagued by pirates based deeper out in Wild Space. It wants guidance in establishing a new defensive array.

Objectives:

Quicksilver (Fleeters, Companies, Rangers) - Hast Shipyards secures a lucrative contract to build a new patrol vessel for the Silver Jedi, in light of the recent and ongoing incursions of The Sith Order into Silver space. Among the requirements for the new frigate is the ability to ferry a battalion sized unit and 1-2 squadrons for transport and interdiction. During development, Hast shipyard frames receive an upgrade in defenses, as military raids against shipyards are now a common occurrence throughout the galaxy.

The secondary objective here is developing an A or B grade spec ops unit used for rapid response and direct action. Mechanized infantry units sporting power armor, capable of holding down an area until reinforcements arrive.

Base Building (Rangers, Jedi) - Part of entering the Jedi Coalition is the promise of security, so teams of Silver Jedi and Rangers are tasked with constructing a new garrison planetside. Among the features of the garrison, it should include a space port, deflector field generator, long range transceiver and long range AA defenses. A modified space station in orbit is directly tied to the base by a tether.

Investigating Corruption (Rangers, Jedi) - It's believed that there's someone on the inside working for a pirate group providing detailed information on cargo movements in and out of the system, transports plucked out of hyperspace by interdictors and well-timed gravity mines. Investigators from the Silver Order are requested to help provide a new set of eyes on the case to discover the truth and put the piracy issue to rest.

This is a barebones outline I just came up with, but if I could, I'd love to make the opening post for the dominion. I have some experience writing them while the GR was still major.

Bring them and I very much like it, [member="Aria Vale"] or [member="Connor Harrison"] should be the ones making the opening for it. Once they do there are some nice ideas we can go with.

[member="Kurayami Bloodborn"] tier 2's are open to rebellion and we just managed to get through one. Don't want to leave it opened for another one so soon that could risk the capital.

Aurora Industries owns the canonical, orbital shipyards there. Lucerne Labs has shipyard facilities there on an invented city as well.

Hast is also In-character Gir's homeworld, and I've done some writing on the world in a few threads as well, but I haven't done anything that defines the world outside of Gir's hometown.

[member="Junko Ike"], this is the thread where Aurora Industries takes over the canon shipyards.

Myself, Taeli Raaf, and Reshmar have all written bits and pieces of Hast since it's been the Directorate's main base of operations, but there aren't many specific threads that I know of where Hast is talked about in great detail. This thread is probably the closest though, which describes Ibtasim City and a loose confederation of city-states ruled by councilors that collectively form Hast's planetary government.

Aside from Ibtasim City, Camp Shipwright (a directorate marine training base), and Fairview (Gir's family's private island), there isn't much written in terms of specific locations.

But I would be happy to advise about bits of lore already written about Hast, if you would like.

I honestly think Tier 2 is the way to go. If people are going to cause problems for our faction, they'll find a way to do that no matter what we do.

Let's just focus on having fun and see where it goes. An additional 10 posts gets us another planet. Why not? And if people do come in and cause problems, at least then we have more of an idea what we can expect if/when the next invasion happens.

hmm both good points and I'd want to involve both of it however the decision is in the hands of the dominion admins [member="Aria Vale"] as well as [member="Coci Heavenshield"], [member="Thurion Heavenshield"] and Connor Harrison

remember I am the sub admin who organizes and helps out for dev threads and if you need to know information about a planet.

[member="Junko Ike"] I'd have to agree with Zak here. Best thing you can do is continue doing business as usual, and the Voss hex has some insulation from Rebellion with the requirement of additional posts. What I would suggest is submitting codex entries for the planets already held in that hex to ensure that the narrative doesn't get out of hand (again) in the event of a Rebellion.

After reading through the threads Gir linked, I believe it's a good idea to make a modification to the original objective list. New shipyards can always be built at Hast, as the real value is in the workforce and their expertise in ship building.

ADM. Reshmar

Directorate Officer Fleet Admiral GA 3rd Fleet
Hast is the headquarters of The Directorate and has shipyards from Aurora Industries, Lucerne Labs and The Directorate yards are there as well as a space station and planetary resources. Gir has a residence there as well as Raymond mosses who is over the Directorate Defense fleet. While I do not mind OSJ dominioning it, it needs to work into our already created content and history. there is no hostile force present. if you attack hast you will be attacking the Directorate.

Would you mind there being a few slavers on the planet? Nothing like a big presence, but maybe something that's slowly becoming a problem so we can flush em out. Minor stuff, and like Junko said it'll help set the stage for bigger things in other doms. If this doesn't fit though, I'd be okay with withdrawing the idea and saving it for future doms and/or events :)

[member="Joza Perl"] Given the planet's origins as a New Republic base, and its current status as the Directorate HQ, I can't there being any slavery practiced there openly. However, I could see some individuals running some kind of secrer trafficking ring for a few wealthy sickos. This can tie back to what we're looking to do in Hutt Space. I think your slaver NPCs could work here.
