Work In Progress DIV/Art Testing Bonanza

Soldiers. Guards. All weak of mind.

Something in that tone, in the way the girl relished the possibilities like a particularly good steak, dredged up something deep in Matsu’s quiet, sea-floor soul. Once it had all been new, a galaxy of opportunity. Somewhere along the way she’d lost that wonder and for a desperate moment she would have done anything to hear that longing again.

But it would have to wait.

Their feet pounded, sound changing as they switched from dirt to brick to metal walkways as they sprinted towards the spaceport. Skidding around a corner, several guards were moving in to a defensive position. The alarm call had been seconds too late, none of them behind cover so their blaster bolts were easily deflected off the unstable cracking of her saber blade.

More passages, more walkways, her cybernetic lungs ticking efficiently and making her feel slightly less human for the lack of burn in her chest. More guards, more soldiers - she dispatched them in the most efficient way possible, saving her strength in the Force for the spaceport itself where they would face the most opposition.

It loomed straight ahead, doors barred to them as the Jedi had warned their fellows well ahead. Still Matsu didn’t stop, sensing rather than seeing her newfound companion right next to her, keeping up with a look on her face that seemed only more crazed with delight by the minute. (This one, honed…this one could be great when the Dark needs it most…)

The sudden sound of something impossibly heavy scraping above made Matsu snap her gaze upwards to the rooftops. Ropes were snapping and ricocheting off market storage with a sound like whips cracking, enormous crates slipping off the rooftops with the force of some Jedi’s push.

“Look out!” Matsu called, leaping and rolling just in time to narrowly avoid being crushed by a crate of blue-finned crayfish that exploded outwards with a stinking clatter. Another box nearly took off her head though she was able to push it away with the Force at the last minute.

It was as they recovered that a Jedi stepped from a security gate in the wall of the spaceport - a Nautolan, a Master by his weight in the Force, no doubt. The Jedi on the roof jumped down to stand by the Master’s side, rolling the blue lightsaber in his hand in anticipation as one…two…three Padawans jumped down as well and moved to spread out around Nyaeli.

“You’re not who we’re looking for Matsu Xiangu, but the Alliance won’t be disappointed to know you were swept up in the net,” called the Nautolan, his green saber erupting in his hand as he stepped forward. Matsu settled her weight in to her feet, taking a deep breath as he squeezed on that core of the Force inside her. She wasn’t too worried - when you’d faced off against the Kerrigan-Alcori’s, most other fish seemed small. But still…

Matsu’s voice ghosted through Nyaeli’s head. “I will deal with these two. The Padawans…they are afraid. You can use that against them. Let’s see what you’ve got.”

The fight began with all three Padawans using numbers to their advantage and charging all at once.
