"Miss Illa, [member="Ardeth Zun"] has arrived." "Excellent. Do bring him in/"

The Chiss turned her back on the hologram she had been looking at, showing the stock of the company she had purchased. With a flick of her hand, she shut the hologram down, preferring to show it in her own time and on her own terms. Not that she had anything to hide, but sometimes it was better to display informaiton in the proper sequence.

The structure around them was still a shell. The outer walls and ceiling was up, and the wiring was lain, but it was still being prepared to house the machinery and infrastructure needed for production. Filiae had spent the last few days locked up in its makeshift office with files she had requested from headquarters after purchase.

"Ardeth, good to see you."

She did not extend a hand in greeting, but inclined her head to the side and the barest bend at the waist. There was enough respect not to offer insult, but none to waste time. They both knew better than waste time dancing around the subject.

"Let me present to you, the former Ri'ess-Emeritus, now Andromeda Incorporated."

The name had come from an old myth of a princess, kept in vile captivity by a dragon and then saved by a hero. The princess then showered the hero in priceless bounty. No doubt, in this tale, Filiae was the hero wresting precious Andromeda from the dragon of corporate stagnation. Not that Cerbera was a poor leader, she was a genius in many aspects and had kept the company afloat when it should have sunk, but it seemed she was not interested in freeing it from the dragon.

"My company, our investment."

Investments were important things.

You needed proper foresight, documentation and research to figure out if it was worthwhile or not. Ri'ess... had a shaky history and that had made the Muun cautious about this entire endeavor. Why this corporation out of every single holding in the Galaxy?

What made it special?

Desirable?

Why would Filiae focus on it out of everything? These were all questions that were besetting the Muun, until she had named the interest rating she was prepared to pay. That. Had shifted his attention in different directions altogether, of course. Not because of simple greed. No, because that rating had told him a simple thing- Filiae was confident about this. "Filiae." An inclination of the head. It still made him loom over her and, in fact, it seemed less a bow and more him studying her for a brief moment.

Was there a difference?

Perhaps for the Muun there was.

"Impressive." Ardeth commented politely. "As were your charts and paperwork. Only a Muun could have done it better." Naturally.

"You wished to lead me through your first annual plan?"

"One day, Ardeth, you will see the difference between a Chiss and the pinks. Our kinds are not that different."

There was jest in her voice, uncommon, but not without precedence.

"Yes, no doubt my investor is keen to know how I will pay him back."

She flicked her fingers, as though turning the page of a book, and the room illuminated in blue as the hologram started from the beginning. What popped up was a list where several entries were marked in orange.

"This is Ri'ess-Emeritus' list of patents and blueprints. After reviewing them, I have concluded that these-" She gestured to the oranges "Are useless to Andromeda. They will be sold to lesser companies, while these-" She gestured to a list, primarily of general ship and weapon outlines, as well as ship systems "Are the ones of which we will maintain production." The oranges and blues were separated with another flick of her fingers.

"However, our main enterprise lies in mining, and that is where we will maintain our corporate backbone." She swiped her hand and replaced the list with another. "These, as I am sure you know, are our mining facilities. I intend to expand our mining operations with at least three new facilities by the second quarter. Aeten II being the priority due to its stygium reserves."

She swiped again, turning the page over to the list of current factories and their projects. "In the same time period, I intend to expand our infrastructure by two factories: this one on Oricon and one on Rhen Var. The Oricon factory will focus on ship repair and maintenance for future projects in Imperial space, while the Rhen Var factory will focus on a new boost in droid manufacture."

"Any questions so far?"

The Muun very much doubted that.

It was nothing personal, really. Neither did Ardeth personally blame her for the natural shortcomings of her species- it was simply the way Filiae had been burn and it didn't truly matter how much she tried to compensate by adding metal into her body.

A Chiss would remain a Chiss and would never be a Muun.

"Oh, if you were a human we would not be speaking as pleasantly as this, Filiae, believe me." The bright fire in his eye grew feverish for a moment. An underlining that this was not a joke and the truth. Whereas Chiss received sympathy, humans only received spite and nausea. Whereas Chiss had at least some form of ratio and even potential... the humans had none.

"Mining?" Head tilted as that eye scoured the hologram and watched for the weaknesses in her plan.

There were a few - Aeten II would be a considerable investment added onto the price of purchasing a controlling stake in this venture. The costs would balloon more and that would be a risk.

One maybe worth taking, but what if... what if the yields wouldn't be as expected? What if- Not that it mattered.

The Muun would receive his due either way. "An interesting angle. Not many companies out there that focus on mining these days." Oh, there were about a dozen mid-sized ones that were supplying, but they weren't anywhere near the scope of the ancient ones. Not anywhere close to the old Outer Rim Oreworks. This could be a profitable niche if she positioned herself correctly.

"Oricon, Rhen Var, Aeten, all worlds that have significant interests by the Sith. How tightly are you planning to align yourself with the Empire publicly? Exclusively? Are there other nations you are planning to connect with?"

"Indeed, mining is rare. Yet, the galaxy produces more goods than ever. Raw materials are sorely needed and often spliced with scavenged materials. This increases impurities and boosts illicit trade." "By contrast, our mined goods are both stronger and more ethical."

She knew of the small companies. This was one of the reasons why she had opted to buy a company of some size, albeit at a higher price. With the corporate structure at her disposal, she could position herself more aptly and potentially strong-arm smaller companies out of ore-rich sectors.

"Our ore-operations are made more profitable as we can employ the yield in our own production as well. Thus, we do not have to buy raw materials from another company." "This is exceptionally valuable when considering high cost materials such as stygium. If one has a buyer."

She smiled knowingly, saying without words that she had a buyer lined up. Had she not known a buyer willing to pay handsomely already, then she would have found it much too risky as well.

"Indeed our first tier of expansion plan is localised near the Sith Empire." "However, no, I will maintain a neutral pan-galactic trade spectrum and not tie my company too closely to the Empire or any other government." "This demands a certain level of delicacy when handling Ri'ess-Emeritus' existing operations in Alliance space, but I am confident the income and resources will make it worthwhile to us, and to the Empire."

She turned the hologram to a map of the galaxy with colour coded lights to show their operations/

"My expansion in Imperial space is to make Andromeda Incorporated more galactic, more diversified, and while I intend to trade with hostile governments, my loyalty is ultimately to the Empire." "My trading partners need not know, and if properly paid, will not care about our politics."
