Digging for gold... er, phrikite.

In the deep forests of Wayland, a single starship set down twenty clicks from a nearby mountainside. Xardus shut off all systems as soon as he could. This was Mandalorian space, and he knew how warlike they could be. He definitely didn't need and crazy Mandos on his tail. Draping his black cloak over his shoulders, he grabbed his lightsaber and supplies. Upon exiting the ship, he held up his scanner, searching for any traces of phrikite ore. Supposedly, when turned into phrik, it made one of the best materials for creating armor. His scanner immediately showed a huge deposit at the foot of the mountain. Perfect, this was going to be easy then. Smirking, the knight made his way to the phrikite.

Stepping out of my cockpit from the Blackbird, I grabbed my F-10 Enforcer from the cargo hold on the ship and grabbed a Pick ax. I knew that most of the sediments were at the bottom of the mountain as I had been looking for Phirikite. The material was known, that when it was molded, it could stop lightsabers. Currently I wanted to upgrade my armor so I could have a battle suit to protect me slightly from lightsabers. Even with this simple setup of Durasteel armor. Sometimes I would like some protection against lightsabers.

Looking onto the lime green HUD that showed my armor output rating and a map. I walked towards the foot of the mountain. As I walked a Ship landed closer than I had. There was only two reasons that I could think of that a person would be here. They like to take nice long walks in a secluded forest, or they wanted to look for something. Currently, I was thinking the latter. Placing the weapon on my back with the sling, I began to run.

"Wow." As Xardus got closer to the mountain, his readings spiked. The amount of phrikite here was unbelievable. Walking faster now, he put his scanner away and looked straight ahead at the sediment. "Okay, now just to-" He was cut off when he felt another presence nearby. It was coming toward him, and fast. Drawing his lightsaber, he turned around to face whatever was on his tail.

Running past trees and shrubby, it would hit my body causing some small pains, but that was easy to what may be happening. As I got closer I could see a bright light that stood up straight like a line of light. Slowing down I came to an edge where I could clearly see a man. holding a saber ready for me. I smiled as I stood out towards the man. Standing in my X-1 Combat armor I walked out to him. Speaking in a gravelly voice, the man could probably hear my smile break through.

"What is a young lad like ya, doin don here on a montin roots?"

Cautiously, Xardus put away his weapon, eyeing the scattershot on the man's back. "I assume it's the same reason you're here, friend. Don't worry, there's plenty of phrikite to go around." He pulled out his torch and pickaxe and began to mine the material.

I smiled as the man began to try and dig out the ore. As his back was turned I pulled my scatterblaster from my back and racked the slid sending a scatterslug in the chamber. The CHUCK CHUCK from the gun seemed to echo on the side of the mountain. "Sorry laddie, but this is all for me here. I'm gonna take this for ma group. There is no way that I'm sharing it with some inkling of a force user." I was coming here to take it back for the Rebels. maybe even try and discover new ways to use the metals.

I stared at him as the man had his back turned to me. Even at this close I would not be letting him take what I had came here for. No matter the cost.

"Inkling? Seriously? Inkling? Xardus chuckled softly and turned around to face the man. He really didn't know what he was getting himself into. "I am no inkling, I can assure you of that. Trust me, you really don't want to try me." He made no further moves, but was prepared to throw a shield of force around himself if the mercenary, rebel, whatever he was decided to shoot him.

I smiled, I was surprised that he had not turned around yet and struck me down. "No inkling? Oh so you mean a youngling? I doubt that you are who you say you are." I was unmoving, and I was not going to back down. "Put down the pick and step away from the mine, Or I can just blow yer hed off."

"No." This guy was apparently serious. Alright then, maybe it was time to teach him a lesson. Budding up a brutal shockwave of force, he threw it at the man, aiming for his chest.

"Oh Frack." I mumbled as a wave of energy came at me. There was no way to avoid it as I flew back and slammed into a tree. "Ghaaa!" Came from my lips as my back slammed. Already I was off to a bad start with a broken rib. Standing up I walked forwards as I popped my neck. "I hope you like bullet holes. Cus ya goona be riddled with them." Taking aim with the laser attached on the side I fired a shot followed by a chuck chuck.

"Oh, by all means." Xardus opened himself up, though it was just an act to egg the other on. "Come get'cha some. I'm all open." He really wasn't sure what he was doing. Didn't he get out of the taunting business a long time ago? He didn't know exactly what caused his arrogance this day, but He liked it. It felt good. The man found a smirk on his face, as if anticipating an attack. No sooner did the smirk land on his face, did the shot land in his chest, knocking him back a few feet. Getting back up, he staggered a little and coughed up some blood. Then reaching into the force, he numbed the pain some, just like morphine. The smirk returned with more sarcasm. "That all you got?"

Oh this would be fun, I thought as the man stood back up from the shot. Scattershots were very devastating. Instead of just being hit with one bullet going at a few thousand feet per second, You had 12 of em come at you at the same time. If at just the right distance it could turn a human head into applesauce. Even then I was surprised that the man could stand up from that.

I smiled past my helm as I let the shot gun drop down to my side and I pulled out my pistol. I pulled both of the weapons back up and aimed by holding them close together. "How bout this krank!' I yelled at him over the sound of my guns being fired once more.

Xardus's fast reflexes caused him to weave in and out of the line of fire. He got nicked in his right arm once, but didn't feel it. Eventually, he made his way to the man, grabbing the pistol and directing it away, then lroceeded to twist the arm around. He grinned as he did so, knowing in his mind that he had the upper hand at this point.

The man swerved back and forth past my firing to get to me. he was rather fast for a person and as he grabbed my pistol I smiled. I could feel as he was intending to twist the gun out of my hands, sadly that wouldn't happen. As he twisted my arm I jumped with the turn to do a side flip and end up twisting his arm now cutting between us. I brought up my shot gun to my hip and fired another shot. he may have thought he was good and in control, But how he was wrong when I had been in fistfights my entire life.

Sorry man I didn't see this till now.

(OOC: it's cool)

Xardus, surprised, jumped to the side as best as he could while his arm was held. Barely missing the shot, he was still wounded slightly. This was not nearly enough to deter him. His eyes flaring a soft yellow in contrast to his already green eyes, he augmented his strength just enough to get the man off of him. "You are making a huge mistake, mercenary. You have no clue what you've gotten yourself into."

Backing up just slightly as the man moved to the side. As he was focused on me, He didn't realize that When I had flipped over my pistol instead of facing away from him would now be aiming for his chest. As he spoke I fired two rounds from my pistol mid-sentence. I couldn't care less if he thought I made a mistake.

Both rounds found their way into Xardus's chest, and he hit the ground hard. Coughing up massive amounts of blood, he tried to stagger to his feet, nearly falling again. His face contorted in pain, he looked at the masked man. "What...?"

With the man being shot in the chest I smiled. Putting my pistol in the holster I strapped it in as the man was speaking. Grabbing my scattershot with both hands now I racked the pump with another CHUCK CHUCK! I brought the gun to be pointed at his chest yet I was far enough away that his saber would not cut it if he tried to. I looked at him on the ground. "Laddie, I just kicked ya arse."

I was so tempted to fire a round at the man again. Even then, just end his life right now. However, I had a feeling in my gut that he was needed a later date. Walking over to him I kicked his hand to get rid of the saber for a moment. "You are a good figher, I can't kill you as I would sooner break a stained glass window. yet I can't have you following me. Sorry." I swung my elbow around to slam him in the face to knock him out.

Xardus only had time for one syllable to escape his mouth. "Wait-" Blackness. In his unconscious, he had some weird dreams. Honestly, death sticks didn't even hold a candle to his hallucinations. It all started like this: Out of the darkness, he began to see a blurry silhouette of a man. It seemed to be talking to him, but he couldn't make it out. "W-what?" He tried to sit up, only to fall back down. "Wake up!" Still too far to hear anything, but the image was getting clearer. Soon, he could see a perfect mirror of himself, at ten years old. "Wake up, Xardus! Wake up!" He grabbed his head, a massive headache coming on. None of this made any sense. Then, the ground beneath him began to shake. Each second, the shaking grew more and more violent until it erupted underneath him, launching him into the air. Falling back down, he could hear the young Xardus once more. WAKE UP! Instantly, his eyes snapped open to find a massive psadan about to smash him with a rock. Thinking quickly, he reached out with the force, grabbed his lightsaber, and slashed upward, slicing both the rock and the creature in half. He stayed in the same position for a good twenty seconds before he eventually, slowly, put away the weapon and got up. "That... was a weird dream."

The young man fell asleep as I slammed the butt of the gun into his face. His body went limp. Slowly I pressed my fingers under his neck to see that he was still alive. Smiling I walked over to where he had the pick. It only took me about a half an hour to get some ingots. When I counted them and sorted them out. I decided to keep the larger ones, the size of my fist, and leave the rest for the lad. He deserved to have some of it after the fight we had. Counting them I had gathered 6 ingots. wrapping them up in some cloth I attached it to the barrel of my scattershot. Walking away after about an hour of being there, I heard a crack of twigs and leaves. walking towards it, the stone beast watched the man. Only did he wake up to cut it.

Smiling I turned around and left before he could try and get me again.
